@BossFoss , if you get the chance do that forest service road from North Scottsdale to Payson that goes through the Tonto National Forest and let me know how it is. Looks like it would be lots of fun from the air.

We did bloody basin on the way in which is pretty close to if not the same as what your saying. It was good. I was hoping for more sageuro cactus but didn't find and until we hit the pavement right by carefree.

There are some at johnny behind the rocks and up sinks.

RC models are good fun. Can't wait to put the goggles on you guys and let you get a front row ride someday on the miniquad. I got a monitor so I can fly with that while a spectator uses the goggles. My co worker tried it out this week. Was freaking out lol.

The time I remember, I kept going past the turnoff for Bartlett lake until it turned into N.F., kept going maybe 15 miles on dirt road started seeing forest service signs for payson, then came to a creek that a rental Chevy Malibu had no business crossing. Been trying to google earth it, but I can't find any road numbers.

And if you happen to roll through Sedona this trip, hit Elote Cafe and try the flight of Margaritas, haven't ever had anything there that isn't excellent.

Jerome is pretty cool, generally do it on the drive from Sedona to Prescott whenever I'm in Sedona for a few days. Always lots of cool stuff to see, do, hike and eat when in Sedona.

It's why I went race quad and not phantom. It's a way more fun "experience" flying it. You'll get to don't worry. Next time we meet up we'll rip some packs!

Yes I built mine with an immersion rc 600mw video transmitter in the quad feeding video from the onboard cam to my goggles via raceband channels. I tested video link out to 1/2 mile so far. It's no phantom digital link but it's zero latency makes it perfect for quick quads. It's a trip! FPV is a whole different world compared to line of sight quad flight. You should fly sims like fpv Freerider to get good at it before going any further. Best if you use a real transmitter hooked up to a computer to play Freerider. I spent probably 10 hours at least in sim before flying my quad. It helped immensely. They're not easy to fly... Especially in acro mode, which is the only way to fly them (miniquad). I can be for hire to build anything fyi  if you want one but don't have the time to build it yourself. I built an impulse RC alien if you're curious

Well then I probably can't suggest anything he doesn't know about, but my personal faves:
1.el Sol in the air park, good margaritas, good fish tacos and good guac, reasonably priced.

    2. Pinnacle Grill at pinnacle peak, good burgers and cocktails, reasonably priced.

    3. Gianfrancos, also by pinnacle peak, excellent piccata anything and amazing carpaccio. Um...about $150/person? My boss always pays.

    4. Ocean prime, on the Scottsdale/deer valley city line, cause a filet mingion tastes best smothered in crab and bearnaise sauce. Premium cocktails are $25 a pop. Also only eat there when it's the bosses idea.

    5. Zinc Bistro, in Kierland. It's all about the roast lamb shank. Hopefully it's still on the menu.

    Well that's my .02

Right on yea for me building it was a lot of fun. Gotta know your solder skills cuz it's all small sensitive stuff. Its super portable which is a big plus. Enjoy the game!

I was at Top golf for the first time a few weeks ago. Definately cool but the money goes fast lol

This would be super fun down here I think. Go into the mountains and just sit down and go for a flight and get some cool shots. I will have to look into that sim as well.
