Haha this is fun, I have a feeling Ben thinks I'm being far more serious than I actually am.

Good to know. I may just mimic their design then. Thinking about making one to cover the open part of my tire gate for storing things too.

    Terrible gas mileage
    Expensive to insure
    Depreciates faster then dog poo
Too big with not enough use able space.
Will never ever get to use all 700hp
    Tires will be pricey.

    Seems straight forward to me..

    Still a ford..still wouldn't own one.

Hmm not sure I get what you mean..be interesting to see it though. What would you store in it?

Ford comment was at the raptor convo..come on man. You're slipping on the multi conversations at a time thing..

I highly doubt a hell cat gets better in town mileage then our trucks. Probably close..but i still get 18 in igor with 33s..
For a car like that...yes depreciation matters man. DD or not. My Grandpas 550hp Camaro was 70k....worth 30k now...3 years later lol
    Really? No i didn't get a quote..but its a 700hp car..and your 25...insurance will be high man..don't be dumb.
more interior space then igor?? not by much really..plus...I HAVE A TRUCK BED. More useable all around.
700hp in that car is a lot. You'll just destroy the tires trying to use it all..
    Eh..sure..

Back seat room on a Harley is pretty spacious provided it's not a Sportster. But yeah I see what you're trying to mean, why even make it street legal if it's a drag car, it's still a civilian vehicle so it can be compared like one and it doesn't stack up all that well in that vain.

Maybe here in the USA..but thats it.

I literally don't see the point of it. A statement maybe. Bragging rights to owning one?

Useless otherwise. Will ride terrible i bet in day to day life. You won't want to put the miles on basically street legal drag slicks as i bet they as insanely expensive and custom ordered. Will not drive in the rain with those tires either.

And you can't compete with it because the computers launch it so fast its banned from competition. Which also to me is a bit lame for a drag car.

YOU don't drive it. The car does. Big whoop.

Thats not what drag racing is about. Its about two guys, in two cars, and who can handle the car and shift the quickest and most accurate. Not a how fast you can push a button and then let the car do it for you.

What discussion would you like to have, you've given a 0-60 and a HP figure. That's all fine but it doesn't tickle my interests in the slightest. If you want to have technical discussion about the drivetrain, I'm your guy, I love the technical aspect of the automotive industry. Injection systems, fuel mappings, methods of forced induction, transmission valving and ratios. If you want to have a discussion about an average car that's acting purely as a vehicle for a big engine, I can't say I'm too interested because the car as a whole is just that to me, a car with a big engine. I'm just not into hyping every new go fast thingy to come out. Happy to discuss it though, what would you like to discuss about it?

But don't say I'm shrugging new vehicles off entirely, I'm just more interested in the drivetrain and what I could do with it.

Yes im aware that not all pro driver use manauls. Tell...where did i mention manuals??? You still have to pull the trigger on the paddle at the right time in a 3000hp dragster to keep the tires hooked and not spinning.

    I did not know that.

    On a different note..

This car is another very cool engineering spectacle and it got me thinking of all the things you can do now so easily that are...idk..professions i guess? Like our photography..my audio work. Those have been under the "prosummer" strategy for years now..and its have a huge impact on the professionals of the industry. Look at how many other industries there are being to go that way..hell you can buy a 3d printer now cheap..This car, 10second drag car purchased as is. Makes you wonder what will happen and where we will end up.

    There ya go!

Transbrake is really cool, uses first and reverse at the same time to cancel each other and build head pressure at the TC and boost if the engine is equipped. Old technology but very neat nonetheless. Uncle has a 69 Trans Am with a custom Turbo 400 that has been transbrake equipped, very strange feeling to just lay into your tranny like that but cool to have the instant torque to launch with.

The AC intake seems a bit gimmicky to me but I'd like to see some independent figures of running the compressor and drag vs hot charge.

The hardening and softening electronic suspension is also older tech that crops up every now and then when a manufacturer is trying to improve suspension design that isn't made for the power of the vehicle. 300ZX had a similar system, was cool to feel it stiffen up for cornering and become soft for the hookup of a launch and then reharden for the takeoff. You can actually make a similar system for your own car if it was of interest. The shocks can be custom made, Bilstien used to make them and now I think Ohlins does. Can do coilover or McPherson struts, would be funny on a Taco. There are some fancier ones that use hydraulic control too. FIAT and Land Rover are both famous for versions of that that are less than sturdy haha.
