I found my fragile opinion being swayed at every turn.

It amazes me they think they are helping Vin out on some level. Dude can take care of his own business I'm sure. His reputation and quality will continue to sell his product.

It was funny everyone was just singing his praises then talking about other vendors and how good they were. Took a real left turn back there when the goal was boycotting the copycat and shaming him lol

    woooowwwww

Yeah i think Vin will be fine. He has the most insane quality standards and that is a big selling point. I know i'll always buy from him. great guy and amazing products. He can't keep anything in stock for a reason..hell if anything that will be his downfall not the price.

There is likely short cuts taken somewhere that i am sure Vin doesn't with those VTX ones.

Anyone have much experience with Teardrops/tiny campers?
I've recently spent a sleepless night or two wondering how well the rtt is going to work with a baby. For the next couple years or until I'd feel comfortable having her in the annex it seems like we don't have many options unless I upgrade to the 3+ person CVT. If I did that, it would only work on my m100 trailer. All that leads me to think I need to build something like this...

Vtx copycat is a form of flattery for scs I guess. People sure get bent out of shape on that shit. I checked out the thread and lost interest just a few lines in on sytfu op. The blow up of the thread shows how many ppl know the real story anyways. The bashing thread wasn't really needed imo. But it's the tw way...

An off-road capable tiny camper would be sweet. Big enough tires to run as spares for the truck would be sweet. Hardside is certainly quite and cozy compared to the rtt, it's why I like sleepingin a topper more than the rtt. No wind noise and better warmth retention is nice.

I know nothing about yuneec. Looks nice in initial Google search. Imo in electronics you always get what you pay for and most importantly you need to pay for the software that runs it. All about what sacrifices you want to make

Seems like it would kinda be the best of both worlds if you kept it small enough. Some of them get pretty fancy with kitchens/tv, but just having some insulation and walls would be nice. I like the general shape of those Hiker ones and it would be much simpler to build. The teardrop shaped ones seem pretty inefficient on interior space especially in the back.

Yeah true. I like the looks of them compared to the DJI ones..

It would be cool to have one as an offroad one. I know my buddie that is building one just bought plans for his. Im sure you could do the same.

I still don't know how i'd feel about offroading with a trailer..but not like it isn't do able since people do it a lot. Would restrict some trails of course.

It would definitely limit the trails you could go on, but I don't know how crazy of trails I'd want to drag one down anyways. Seems like some of the time you could pull it in somewhere and leave it setup while having fun. Those axleless setups would definitely help with clearance though.

    Axleless??

They definitely could be nice that is for sure. I've thought about it a time or too..but i like going fast now too much to want to have to tow something.

@Blackdawg Are you looking at drones? What's your focus if so? I know you like the videographer side of it and you'd need it to be portable for trips? My boss just got a mavic pro... Thing is awesome. The amount of tech and ability packed into that little handful for 1k is insane Imo and we'll worth it if you want that type of drone. Only pitfall of the mavic is the wind performance and transmitter if you have a small phone, but those are hardly issues given what it is.
