I should have just bought yours, it would have been cheaper in the long run.

Why not pick up a new hobby that fullfills the need to tinker with things? Something cheaper than a car but still fun?

I can't afford rent..or I get let go for some reason.
Long story short Rachell may not be joining me down here, so everything I set up for us both is now falling on just me.

I have been kicking around a few ideas. Maybe build some models, thought about RC stuff but none of it is cheap lol. My hobby has become nothing but work. I work roughly 4-6 hours saturday and sunday it seems from home just so i don't get bored and let my mind wander.

Among other things, I have been looking into DIY hydroponic vertical harvest systems today. Since you seem to have picked up an interest in yard work...this may appeal to you. This is an a-frame design, but you could do a single vertical system along a fence. High enough to keep the dogs out and the rabbits from eating your food. It's going to be my summer project to keep my mind busy on 3 day weekends.

Been the hardest part about this move to Idaho. They have dirt cheap, rickety mobile homes I could make work for Ash and I but I am trying to plan on Lizzy coming with her dog and her higher level of basic needs. I am going to be paying ~$800 for rent...which is affordable by myself. I just don't need a 3bd/2ba all to myself. I am going to try and rent a single room to a 6 month tech. I couldn't imagine what you are paying for in Denver. I know pay is adjusted there and your job pays waayyyy more than mine will but still. Seems like everything cost more there.

As far as hobbies. If you want something that is calming and doesn't require much brain power, I suggest getting a cheap sewing machine and try making some outdoor gear. Time flies when I am sewing and its oddly relaxing. RC cars would be fun...but expensive for what they are and they don't appeal as much to me. Another relatively cheap one I have been looking at is framing. Lots of room for creativity and a bonus if you have photos to frame but you could probably sell them to cover the cost of the hobby. You can do it without power tools even.

Yea, I got us a 2.5 bed place and its nice. Its honestly more than we would need together but I like having the space. Did all this planned out and then on the last drive through Casper she said she needs to find out if shes ready to make the move with me. Lol like moving to wyoming wasn't enough being together 6 years? So I am debating on trying to get out of my lease and just find myself a smaller place with a yard for Dusty still and if we make thing work (if i even want to then) and she wants to come we can cross that bridge when the new lease is up.

Ya RC gets expensive quick, sewing would be a interesting hobby. I dusted off my guitars and have been kinda playing them a bit.

So I saw a red Focus ST yesterday, as well as a white RS, and the ST had gold wheels and lowered a little and actually looked pretty good. The RS looked sex tho.

A hydroponic system would be easier to track the health since you supply the nutrients and water. Less environmental inputs. If they chew it's not dog proof, you could build it high enough so they wouldn't pee or lay on the plants. Could do a single row, 5-6ft off the ground to prevent them from getting to it at all.

I am a firm believe that there is no such thing as a "cheap" hobby...period haha

cheap to get in...but never ever cheap to keep going.

Do it. See what kind of up keep has been done to it.

I love the bigger cab. Could swap everything from your rig over, even the tranny. Is it the same year as yours? then sell your rig. Probably come out on top.

Be a huge project for you to do that though.

And I know you would never.

But makes a nice DD. Better then the Durago.

The only downside to getting back into a Tacoma (to me) is even if i was using it as my DD instead of my work truck it would be a downgrade. I would prefer a tacoma, but they get the same mileage honestly.

I don't think so. Bigger trucks have their perks....bigger..more power. All that. I get it.

But every time I get in my Taco it just...idk. Feels great. I love the small factor of it. And I know it'll go anywhere.

The Magic of these trucks is strong stuff I think. I don't have a way to describe it.

You wouldn't swap over the armor??? or suspension? or RTT? haha what??

Be a nice truck. I really like it. I like how it packs up a lot. And drives the same as what you have now so..no change there.

No I am with you. I miss my old one, and would love a 4-door. The space of the full size is handy and hell its just me and the dog. And the power is obviously night and day. I get roughly 14 to 15 in city and im not overly easy on it.

But the small size of the tacoma would be handy as well, especially if I was still sneaking out to the mountains more.
