    HF has a couple of nice aluminum floor jacks but they don't lift high enough.

    Yeah I have to use a huge block of wood to get Frank's tires off the ground.

    Even with a bigger 2 ton jack that's probably 14"

    I have a HF jack that works well with the redhead. It can lift tires off the ground without using a block but it is huge and fuckton heavy. like 90 lbs. Not gonna carry that on the trail.

    We couldn't use it there due to gravity. Not the trail. A normal jack would have Done the same thing dude . It's was off camber.

    I don't remember this grief you're referring to in canada..with timmy? That was the same situation as you. Off camber. And the rear flexes better.

    With as heavy as the truck is, and tall (rtt). It still would want to shift in your situation as we would be jacking from the diff to get both wheels off the ground. Once both wheels are off it'll want to slide, no matter what, when off camber like it was.

    Yeah there is less potential energy. But not enough to keep it from sliding. The tires are holding the whole ass of the truck sliding. Once you remove both your screwed.

    Now, had we been changing a tire and lifting only one side. Hell yes a normal jack would have worked and better. But you would only be raising one rear tire vs both.

    The situation you were is was fucked to begin with.

    So don't buy another jack and fix you're silly locker hahaha

    Honestly the stock bottle jack works fine on the rear axle to change one tire. Plenty of height for even larger tires.

    If I were to use the hilift for the rear, I'd probably strap the axle to the frame before letting the suspension droop all the way.

    I've used hilifts in some interesting situations, they're dangerous but are more versatile than any other option. One time someone blew a duratrac (surprise!) and then pulled off the road on the downhill side with the blown tire also on the downhill side. Way off camber. Had to hook up my winch to the uphill side to make sure it didn't go anywhere, and then used most of the 4' hilift bar off the slider to get the tire off the ground. Sketchy as hell, but couldn't have done it with any other jack.

    That's not fixed and you know it. Quit talking new rear shock and a new tent and buy a new actuator.

    Bingo! This is what we did in canada. Strapped the axle to the frame. Worked like a charm.

    Barely see any tire wear increase. If you ever need to remove your axleshafts you'll likely see your splines beginning to warp though. Not a huge deal but your being stupidly cheap for an easy fix

    Indeed I bought pretty wheels. No regrets. I bought them with the tires. Which I needed anyways. Maintaining my daily is more important then frank. That's the point.
