Technically...all lights other than your OEM head lights are very illegal..haha

Im actually working on a circuit board design to plug into my Bussman harness so you can select which circuits on your bussman you want to be controllable via the stock High beam switch.

Basically, it'll have molex connectors to plug into directly a bussman harness if you follow this write up: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-build-and-install-a-bussmann-rtmr-fuse-relay-block.399454/ and then you can select which ever circuit you want via dip switch to come on with the high beams. Main switch still works too.

Well I've used all of my lights here on the highway. Haha never once been pulled over. But I'm pretty good at killing them before people get to me.

 

For states like Idaho, MT and WY I think you are pretty safe using them with your highbeams or in place of them. As long as you are shutting them off well before the light would hit oncoming drivers.

 

Gave up my nice co2 bottle today needed hydro tested and wasn't sure I'd get it back in time for the tour trip.

 

Ha! You'll only catch me on a road like that when I am going to and from work.

From today in the canyon lands. The smoke just gets worse each day.

Holy shit is it smokey up here in MT. Butte just has a layer in here, held in with the mountains.

 

You guys have any recommendations for someplace cool to photograph the eclipse? I'm thinking of making a drive from Nebraska to somewhere in the Tetons. An old mining structure or something similar would be pretty badass. Just needs to be something in view when looking towards the south.

 

The tetons will be on of the worst places to head too. it'll be completely overrun. The whole state is though from the sounds of it, but that will no doubt be one of the major hot spots. id stick to the wind rivers further east. Though i don't have any recommendations for you in terms of old mines or anything. Not real familiar with that corner of the state

 

Headed to pinedale this weekend for the annual sailing regatta! Going to be a shit show and a half but an incredible amount of fun!

 

Gotta be a fair bit of back country though right? Figure I could put the taco to use and get out to somewhere with probably no people. Would be hard to find that ideal spot on little notice tho.

 

i use my lights at night when theres no traffic around. 287 between laramie and ft collins usually. and anytime im alone on the highways at night.

 

There are lots of roads in the wind rivers you could take. Almost nothing by the tetons though. National park and tons of private land there.

 

I mean I'm sure you could find something around the Tetons, but the hassle of dealing with everyone else on the roads and in the town wouldn't make it worth it.

Like Monte said, on the path of totality, almost anywhere else besides an hour or two around Jackson would be better lol

 

But.. It would not have the cool, hip vibe that engulfs the whole Jackson eco-space... Mang! <in my best hippie rendition>
