TB/WP done. Pretty straight forward, not as bad as I anticipated. Wish the engineers had made it where you didn't have to remove the A/C compressor and bracket to remove the tensioner. Think that would easily knock an hour off the removal/install time.

 

I've gotta do this on Igor soon. Had toyota do frank last time. How long did it take you?

 

It's time for mine. Just passed 90K since the last one.

This will be a winter project for me.

 

Need to get mine done before winter. Assuming I'm moving and all. Bought all the parts for it and valve cover gaskets. Like to do a tranny fluid flush too.

 

Yeah, valve cover gaskets and trans flush are on my list as well. I will also be doing spark plug wires (still on originals) and spark plugs.

Will you also be doing camshaft seals and the front crankshaft seal?

 

Speaking of stuff, just ordered a 16 pc kit of timing belt compontente. Planning on replacing the rear main seal. Is there any other maintenance you guys might recommend that will be easier without a block in the way

Cam shaft seals? That's part of the valve cover gasket. Well the half moon deals which is just FIPG.

Unsure of front crank seal.

 

Hmm..only if you have exhaust leaks. Otherwise new headers. Radiator.

 

i was going to buy doug thorleys but they wouldn't arrive in time and would likely delay my process... so i'll get them another time

 

I'm guessing 7 hrs over two nights. But I also pulled my bumper so I could stand closer and pulled the radiator just for more room. Prob could do it in half that if I was to do it again.

Finally getting the time to install the AEM AFR/Boost gauge that's been laying around for about a year. Hopefully it's not to complicated to learn how to adjust the URD 7th injector once I can see what's going on

 

I recognize our trucks are not the same. And our driving conditions and likely driving styles are not the same either. However, I do not believe an RTT makes all that difference. Driving conditions and style play a much more significant role.

This brings up something I've been thinking about since yesterday. On friday I headed to CDA, 310 miles from my house. Had to fill up. Put in almost 18 gallons. Got 17.5 mpg for the tank per the scangauge. All interstate. Typically ~70 mph. Coming home I took all back roads to Cheney from the farm, then filled it up again. Cheney to home via I-90 is ~265 miles. Was on fumes when I rolled into the driveway. Scangauge says this tank is 14.3 mpg.

I say all this to makes the point that driving conditions were the difference. Yesterday's drive from Cheney was against a 3/4 head wind all the way home. My truck hated it.

 

Nothing wrong with that! Might have boosted your life expectancy.

 

Yeah, the smoke is gone. The wind and all that rain yesterday morning was great.

 

Been super rainy here. Rained 4'5 times yesterday. Been nice a cool though.

Fun though as igor barely gets much better on average then what you guys are getting. Generally.

Flat interstate driving and I can still break 20 mpg. Usually around 17 though

 

Hope it goes well for you. I think im at the point where i'll either just live with the ping..or get a meth injection kit. Or say fuck it and get the standalone ecu
