Artsy folks can be hell to deal with, chances are you know better but you have to make them think their input was followed to the tee. I call it calculated placation.

 

Tried that already. Gonna ha e to do it their way and it'll be worse and ultimately I'll take the blame. Sucks.

 

How hard is it to show them both options that way they can hear and decide?

 

I bet its hard to convince them to try it his way given he records performances.

 

Not easy. Even if I do stuff during rehearsal to show them the room changes drastically when you add 100+ people to it. So you have to mic for that which sounds super wet/live during rehearsal.

My problem is the musicals can talk to the founder/billionaire directly. Who talks to my boss who talks to me. He has less understanding about recording then they do but will side with them no matter what.

The problem is the cello plater who plays on one piece during the concert(out of 11) is willing to compromise the rest of the concert for his recording of a world premiere of his piece.

Which to me is BS.

 

Monte, do it their way just to keep the peace. You are done with them soon anyway.

You know you are right. At some point they too will realize you were right but of course, it'll be too late at that point for either side to do anything about it.

 

Wise beyond your years.

 

The new (to me) vehicle itch is real. The price some people ask is unreal. Hoping to score a good deal on a 100 series. It needs new suspension and an alternator. Lower miles (for the year) and has been cared for. I would just drop it in the shop for the alt and work on the suspension later.

At least when I get the itch, I try to get vehicles that won't lose much value over a year or two. Heck, it's kinda like a savings account. I'll just tell people I save money by buying older vehicles. I did see the local car lot had a 3rd gen in it. Might be time to test drive one.

I may call upon a favor soon . I like the vehicle selection down that way better. I'll probably have to bring BabyT down myself to purchase and then park one there until I can get a ride down with a coworker.

Spent all day dialing it in how he wanted. Recorded tons of rehearsal time for him and patch stuff. Then at the concert. He decided to NOT SIT IN THE SAME SPOT WHERE MY FUCKING MICS ARE and put his iPad in front of one of the spot mics while having turned away from the other and moved to the side....

So much for that.
