Haha right! Sure does drive better than my pickup, and the V8 would be nice. I'm sure I would miss having a pickup too much though Tried to convince my wife to trade off her 15 Grand Cherokee for it but she wasn't having it.

 

What I see is the mods for them cost way more too, plus idk what size family you have but you don’t usually need a 9 person rig

 

Just three of us right now, and a couple dogs so the third row would be out 99% of the time. Ideally if I were to do it I would like to find a decent first gen for the times a pickup was necessary.
Suspension wise if I'm reading correctly my coilovers should be a direct swap, and a rear coil conversion is pretty cheap. Other than that I agree mods do seem higher priced. Sliders and skids would be things I could do myself, but bumpers and what not are pricey!
Doubt I'd go through with it, just kinda like the way they look. It would for sure make a more enjoyable ride to get to places to wheel, especially as many times as we venture down to CO every year. Frankly I'm just not getting to do as much hardcore wheeling since selling the Jeep.

On another note, does anyone have any suggestions for areas around Moab that might be less crowded during Easter jeep safari? We've been wanting to go back and Tess finally had a decent spring break, but it unfortunately coincides with EJS.

 

Any place they are not. They will have the schedule of runs in the Safari magazine they put out and the net. Went last year and avoided them easy. Just looked and they don't have schedule posted yet.

 

The Maze is about as isolated as it gets.

Ok i'm out of patience with my steering rack. I am literally tossed around the road by grooves or un even lines, and the alignment is never right and its straight killing my tires. Its just sloppy as fuck and I dont think just having 35s is the culprit. Its obviously worn and leaking and after being subject to my abuse for the last 5 years is past the end of its life. So, everyone says get oem, and get the 01-04 year replacement ones right?

 

For how much you abuse it, yes, OEM. Write to this guy for a pretty good price.

Monte did you get your splash guards from cnote4? Any feedback on them? Happy? Did you get clips too? Are they OEM? How do the gaurds feel? As thick and flexible as OEM? Were they for Frank or Igor?

I did get them very fast. I paid extra to have shipped early. And HD clips. Haven't installed yet. Going on igor. Very high quality and flexible. 1/8" thick. Very nice. Clips seem okay. One time use ones though.

 

I think I'm gonna go ahead and order a set then. My passenger side one is totally missing and some of the driver side holes are torn or missing clips.

Yeah I think they are well worth it. Will get a set for frank too eventually. Igor just gets way more winter driving. And his are brittle and torn.

Saw a dude use screws and washers. Might do that on the driver side so then I can get to the oil filter easier.

 

White rim trail is neat too. We were there during jeep week and that was open. Passed a few people but it was nothing like the other trails for traffic. Need to reserve campsites ahead of time, might be why it's less traffic too

 

Mine were cracking and so I ordered the same material off Amazon and cut new ones and used the current plugs. Cost me like 1/4 of what they were asking I think. Had to borrow a driver side one from my brother since mine had fallen apart

Wow that thing is clean!

White rim has always been on our list, looks like beautiful country. It is also pretty remote, probably not frequented by the average Jeeper.
