Drop a 350 in it and call it a day. If only I had the time and space and moniez that would be fun.

You'll have to relocate them and get a little tricky to to get the most out of them. Just Sayin'.

Seems like you have some experience doing that.

That means new shocks doesn't it?
Those Foxes would be too short in that application too I would think.

    I wouldn't want one.

Yeah would need new shocks. Probably 1" wheel spacers too.

Not gonna happen right now though. Too much money.

Was just adding an old AAL I had lying around to the pack but turns out one of them is split. So tore that all apart for nothing..

Motor and Tranny suck. I'd take a 2nd Gen over a third any day of the week.

What is wrong with the engine. The tranny gets a lot of complaints but I don't think it's warranted. I think it's the nature of the beast with it trying to stay in the most economical gear. If it had a 4 speed it would not hunt but it wouldn't be as economical. I still need to drive one though to see what it is I'm missing on it.

Yeah but it hunts constantly. The auto in the 2nd gens was way better. Smooth and efficient enough.

All the power and torque in the new motor is in the higher rpms. Not down low like our motors or the 4.0.

Rest if the truck is fine I think, though really it's a 2nd Gen frame and suspension ha but Toyota fucked up with the driveline.

@Digiratus how much did your rear spring run? 700?

Aint that alwasy the problem. I really am starting to enjoy the looks. of them.

I would go manual so hopefully would not be as much of an issue. But that is the big problem is the power is so high. Then again, I would look at it as more of a weekend DD and explorer. So decent mileage is always a plus and not towing with one. But I do like the power my work truck hemi has would be hard to go away from that.

I like them. My friend has one and she loves it. MGM with a matching topper. I would wait another year to let the kinks work themselves out.

If money was no object a brand new duramax would be sitting in my driveway. I can't believe how smooth the new ones are. You almost can't feel the power but the ride is as comfy as a halfton.

With Chevy releasing the zr2 or whatever. They have a lot of pressure now too. That thing looks sweet. But if it drive anything like the POS Colorado we have here then I'd never ever own one

I'd have the new raptor myself. All the truck I could need. Plenty big, plenty if power, plenty of suspension.
Sorta like the one for first gens frames, but they kept and crushed them.

On paper it's got a lot going for it. Diesel, f/r lockers, trick suspension....but at up to $50k.... That's a hard pill to swallow.
