I'm curious now. What exactly is it that got you so stirred up about it?

I just disagree with the end justifies the means mentality I guess. They take the approach of "well a native girl somewhere at sometime on the Rez was raped so we will slap inspired by true events on the cover and just take creative liberty for our cause and make up whatever we want". Then at the end it had nothing to do with any kind of story of rape or injustice, but rather we want a statistic for missing Native American women.

So my stance is if you want to tell a story fine, so be it. Don't claim true events on your creative expression to further a cause that frankly had nothing to do with the movie. Honestly too it probably strikes a nerve that they used the community I live in to do it as well.

Proabably more of a campfire convo than an Internet one. I just find it disturbing that it's presented in that way and don't feel it's really serving to the needs of the Native American community.

No i get all that. I'd also say I'd agree with your points. I think I just liked the movie as a story more than anything.

But agree with the rest of your points. I really didn't like how wyoming was portrayed as still the fuckin wild wild west.

Had I gone into it with I am going to watch a story, I'd probably feel different. It started with the whole true events thing so I was like "oh, cool I will get to learn about something that happened here". Quickly I was more like when did this happen? This doesn't sound right, then the shootout with the sheriff happend and I was like it's time to google this because it's redic lol.

Saw it. Liked it for what it was and disliked it for what I thought it might be.

Those were always so silly to me owning a car like that. But I guess if you can buy a car for that much then you probably have shit loads of them. Still dumb.

There was a nice solid axle toyota truck for $600 here the other week (just before my engine started puking oil). I almost bought it but decided 4 vehicles was too much as our current place. If we buy this house I'll have a nice corner lot with a ton of curb space for projects .
