My first Toyota was a '92 5-lug 4x2 in this color. Bought it brand new for ~$6500 IIRC. I always kicked myself later for not stepping up to the 4x4 version but alas, at the time, just couldn't afford the extra $2500-$3000 it would have cost.

The asking price on this one is pretty damn close to the sticker price for it new back in '92. Ha...

I tried greasing my u joints today..new grease inserts are barely smaller then the plunger in the gun

 

does the tip on your grease gun not have a size adjuster. Ummm, mine does. And it come in handy for these situations. Not all my zirks are the same size. Lol

 

No I mean the tube of grease is barely too small so the plunger won't press it up to be pumped out

 

Well I confirmed my speedo cable is broke on the little truck. Sucks. That won't be fun to replace

Far as I know he liked it a lot. Just couldn't afford to have it around anymore due to life.

He is on a trip and will be back Monday I think and can tell you more.

 

Im not sure yet, I don't know that really want to. We've kinda just been weighing some options recently, a lot has changed since having a baby. Its so much nicer to take the truck places when we go on trips than our Grand Cherokee just for the space. The Jeep is so much more comfortable and enjoyable to drive though, and so much better mileage. Going to look at a couple options that might be quieter/more comfortable on longer drives, maybe better mileage than mine gets anymore.

Well shit balls. Tore into old man's 2wd 1991 yota with 280k on it because speedo didn't work. Found the drive gear on trans shaft is sliding left and right and can free spin. Damn it.

 

that sucks.

 

Just found an article on a celica forum and it said trans has to be split to pull gear off, add new retainer clip and reinstall.

 

sounds about as fun as tearing the engine bay apart to run a new speedo cable.

 

Hey, if you wanna relive your past, I'd sell it! 93k actual miles! 5lug, 2wd, just like yours!
