Sometimes you can see the bolt in the center has pushed the sleeve through the rubber, I may have one or two of those. But mostly you can see the cab bodyline doesn't meet the bed body line at the same height anymore.

Can make the can more sharply vibraty to put it vaguely haha

18 years... not old enough to drink but old enough to vote I'd say the rubber could be starting to go by now

Might as well do motor mounts too. Stock ones are easy to replace, solid ones are a bitch but I love everything about how they feel now.

I was mostly just curious and in learn mode :). I see people talking about it all the time, but had no idea how they "knew."

I don't think you'd notice more vibes or noise. Besides your the one that is always saying to turn up the music louder over the noise anyways haha

It's a taxed rubber bushing. They crank and deteriorate like any other. Offroad is real rough on them.

For instance here is one of my fronts since I have the bumper off.

    1521850417585.jpg

    Pretty rough looking.

However my body lines show no significant different from the cab to the bed. Remember the bed is hard mounted to the frame the body isn't. As the bushings go out the cab will sink up to 1/4" from the bed lower. If that happens definitely time to swap them.

Oh you don't have solid mounted motor mounts. You have poly mounts.

    Does feel awesome though.

But if Ben is worried about vibes from the energy suspension bushings then poly motor mounts aren't for him haha

Yeah true they are, that goofy bushing they use is pretty unyielding though, had to get a five foot cheater on it to achieve any deflection at all to have holes line up. Poly is good though, my buddy's 300ZX had solid steel mounts and that was no treat haha, shit was rough. My whole experience with the poly motor mounts was positive, I have less vibes now than I had with OEM mounts. Hell he drove my truck, can probably tell you it wasn't vibratey.

    I agree. Solid would suck.

I have liked the bomb proof mounts. No complaints other than they raised my motor so damn high. I'm ordering some of Bozens though for frank. Hopefully fit better and should be beefier.

Swap the 4xi over with the bomb ones to the single cab. Should be fun and will replace the broken rubber one.

These were my radiator ones at 41k miles on a 2011. But my body can mounts looked brand new still.

The Bonzen mounts are nice pieces for sure. I don't know what the OEM mount to motor bracket looks like on a V6 but the 4cyl one is already very thick, so I was just going to weld a gusset or two to mine and call it a day.

you mean the perches? I need to gusset mine.

The mounts aren't not beefy..just big ass rubber things.

The perches certainly could use a gusset or two but I'm talking about the metal structure that bolts from the engine to the mount itself (the Bonzens will replace it)

    look cast iron.

    upload_2018-3-23_19-55-33.jpg

Bozen uses the OEM mount form the motor as the bolt pattern and I think just gussets it. He won't take the cast iron ones though obviously.

    perches are dinky.

Oh weird, I guess V6s get cast iron mount perches then. Mine have some bent 1/4 plate that make up that part that the motor mount bolts to.

nah Bozen said that the cast iron ones were only in the early models and kind of rare.

Might be just steel. Those are Franks obviously and Im not by him right now.

Well we are out on the river. Have cell service so hardly camping but we are trying out the wildernest. Love the spacious interior. Supposed to snow so...see how it goes. Getting chilling

Cool river access area near Nye that has several campsites. Was a pretty spot. Got there too late to really explore and I have a gig today so didn't do much other than watch the stars and sleep.

Wildernest is super cool. Bed was bigger than I thought it would be. Still smaller though. Didn't mind so much as it dipped below 30 easily last night. Probably mid 20s. Frosted up the inside of the tent. Have it airing out now.

Setup is about the same time wise, but I wasn't scrambling over gear in the bed. The amount of room is crazy cool. Super spacious. Getting in and out is a bit of a pain honestly. On Frank will be a big jump up. Just get a step stool or something.

Still not 100% sold on it..But was cool. Would be a big change if we went this route. I'd want to get all new canvas for it and modify it as well do be sucked down tighter. In the wind it would be brutally loud.
