    I just finished up going thru my front end and it was so worth it. Feels really good and tight again. Almost like new.

    Yeah, looks like it. There were able to set the toe and have the steering wheel straight at the same time at least. :thumbsup: The bad news is they only did a toe and go. The guy told me he was too scared to mess with the camber and caster. WTF!!

    I'm going to stop by the Firestone in the Highlands, up on Union. See if they have someone with a little more experience, one that isn't afraid to do a real alignment.

    Having said all that, the adjustments you and Dan put on it the other day were not that far off. Except for the steering wheel position, it is close enough to drive it to work this week. Impressed!

    Did you count the threads on the tie rods to see if they were close to even to make sure you got the input shaft on the correct spline?

    It's a firestone, they're pretty picky about setting things out of spec. Only reason I continue to go there is because I have found a couple with good technicians that are willing to work with my demands haha. Speaking of which my Taco needs an alignment right now

    Good question. Mostly lazy would be my guess. I only found that out this time because I pressed them on why they could not get the numbers better after all the new pieces were installed. Turns out the guy didn't even try. This is the same guy who worked on it previously who claimed at the time that the caster was maxed out. Well we found out that he lied about that. He could not have even tried to make changes because the damn cam adjusters were totally frozen. :rofl:

    Issue being is that you can get the steering wheel straight and alignment correct without the rack being centered. Then it'll turn more one way than the other. Kinda sounds like what he's got going on given how far off the steering wheel was. :notsure:

    That's why he had to leave it at Firestone, he told them the rack needed to be centered and then have the foot re-adjusted.

    I suppose this is possible but looks like they actually got it centered from what I can tell. I've been reluctant to force it to hard to the extreme for fear of fucking up the clock spring. But I have turned almost to the limit (in both directions) in a parking lot. I know the true test will come on the trail.

    I hear what you are saying but it isn't as simple as that.

    I suspect the real problem is they don't pay very good. So they have trouble keeping good people. They have done great work for me in the past but it is a bit of a revolving door there. The good techs that were there are gone. Even the management guys turn over.
