I don't have enough FIPG to fill the large void in the covers. Plus it would be so messy to get them on right.

I'm not sure at this point. I'm supposed to be in powell Friday morning to get new tires mounted and an alignment. It's leaking too bad to even make that drive I think. Would make a huge mess on the headers.

I like the blue ultra squishy Fel-Pro gaskets, cork and rubber don't seem to work well. Also did you reseal the half moons they leak near the top where their silicone gets torn.

Yeah used FIPG there like your supposed to and by the cams

I don't think there's an option for the Fel-Pro for the valve covers

Huh, what kind of gasket are you using, for reasonably flat ones I sometimes use a bit of this...
    https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_7651224

And by a bit I mean I douche the ever living shit out of it, you cannot have enough, good stuff makes putting gaskets on really easy too.

I used plenty FIPG. I use toyotas FIPG. Good shit.

Looks like it's not as bad anymore after re torquing the bolts. But I am way past was the torque spec is. I'm at good n tight specs now. Only supposed to be 50 inlbs

Lol tow hook bent my frame upwards from getting a tug or tugging someone at some point.

Have to wait till tomorrow to do the hammering. Don't want to be an ass hole neighbor plus Devin's asleep right by the shop and that would be bad.

And I don't want to try and lift this while trying to start bolts. Not the same as my elite which uses studs so you can do it alone.

Tires where delivered today. Just need to top off the tranny tomorrow and bumper and I think I'm good to go.

    Always down to the wire..

    @Blackdawg

From Paul at SOLO this morning in regards to the email I sent the other day about the 2nd Gen Taco/FJ Cruiser knuckle/spindles:

"Will, Yes, we have a 4wd prototype built. It will need to go to scanning for CAD. At this point it is on hold because the shop is busy. To get the ball rolling since initially it is very expensive to move forward on a new product, we would need to have at a minimum of 5 pre-orders in order for us to move forward. I am here at 7:30am Thursday if you want to speak further with more questions. Thanks, Paul"

    cool!

Shouldn't be hard to find folks interested in that. But will be hard to find 5 people to shell out 1800 bucks or so for spindles.

also just read that Ford is going to stop selling cars in the US. 90% of its inventory will be trucks, suvs, and commercial vehicles. Only the mustang and a crossover car will be sold.

Bye bye focus, fiesta, taurus, edge, and whatever else.

I saw a SHO taurus the other day, nice looking car. Would probably totally drive that.

    no doubt..

After this, Frank will be getting most the love. Other than a few things on the little truck like oil changes and stuff.

My buddies brother works for ford testing new vehicles. HE said the SHO would stomp the mustang back when it was released.

Almost makes me want to get an RS for the memorabilia.

On the note of Ford the sales guy here talked me into driving a Raptor. Not impressed.

Well that's the wrong words. Super smooth, steering was as tight as a sports car, super impressive. Suspension was smooth, just did some gnarly pot hole ridden frontage road and interstate stuff. Its quick, but doesn't really "feel" fast.

All in all I went in there being worried that the test drive was going to hook me and my wallet would be hurting, got out knowing that for the cost of it I would rather build my own to a lesser extent with a S/C 5.0.

That being said if a deal came up on one, I wouldn't pass it up. They are seriuosly impressive, the techinology in it is understated.

365hp of twin turbo goodness. Id imagine so!

This is the last year they are doing the RS. Was only for 2 years for production.

A older raptor with the 6.2l would be cool I think. New ones..eh idk.

Old one vs new one is a large gap IMO. I have ridden a few of the 1st gens, including a S/C one and they just are heavy and slow. The new one is much nicer I think. Its still an incridble rig, but I think the sad thing is it takes all the fun of the modding away from it.

They are really heavy compared to our 2nd gens... But they're built suspension wise pretty well. The 4wd drivetrain is garbage as proven by a few of the guys in the raptor run group I was in this last summer. Broken front drivetrain problems accross the board. Other than that solid truck if used as intended

Still a big heavy car but being pretty luxury you can't ask for much faster of a pony!
