guy i don't think was that honest haha runs great. Pulls hard.

But said it had a lot of new parts and it just isn't true from what Im finding. Said it had a new clutch but it slips in higher gears up hill. Like 5th going up a steep hill will slip. I can make it slip by just flooring it in 4th or 5th. Interior has some issues, just got a new switch for the blower motor. CV boots were torn.

I should have slowed the hell down and looked closer when buying it. Over paid about 1500 bucks on it at least.

No regrets though. Still a fun fun truck!

 

and I wanted it. So I was screwed either way.

I drove to Riverton yesterday to pick up my next project. I've been missing a 1st gen in my fleet and been looking for the right deal. I talked him down $2k from his asking price with a bad engine. Pretty sure it's bearing caps. Now I'll have 2 of these engines laying around with the same problem. I doubt I'll fix it, probably go with rebuild or salvage yard engine I found with 140k and 150 p.s.i. for 600 bones.

He was advertising on CL and I saw that it had been on for 30 days. Turns out I was on Denver CL sight and he had trailered it from here to Riverton, hence probably the lack of interest. Long drive for someone to look at a truck with a bad engine that was over priced to begin with. This is exactly why I own 2 car trailers. Too bad it's not a DC, but I won't quit looking. This'll do for now.

Sorry, no, he wanted 3600. I got it for 1600. NADA Book is 9200 with mileage in present condition. I bet I could fetch close to that in Laramie.

I'd still have paid more. I'll have 4k into a truck that's worth double. I have a rule of thumb to not be into a flipper for more than half the book value. I also sell below book value. The buyer gets a good deal, I make a profit, and it sells quickly.

 

I was watching that one for awhile waiting to see if the price was going to come down at all. Didn't realize it ended up in riverton.

I guess his landlord wanted it gone so his uncle came and trailered it to Riverton. Wished I'd have looked earlier but I hate CL because I can't seem to get on there without spending money on something I can flip. It's as bad as the 3rd gen thread here.
