SPEAKING OF NOT WINTER
I’ll be in Boise for thanksgiving, wed night to Sunday afternoon. Going shooting Saturday, planning on doing some mountain biking down from bogus at some point...will be spending Wednesday and Friday night out at a few bars with dance floors

 

4 hour layovers today..damn. what's everyone else doing for the holiday?

Chillin here, lazy one for us. I guess if I had to say...I'm sort of making sure I've got everything ready to go visit @Speedytech7 shortly after.

I made sure to grab a new bottle of 75/25 and I picked up all the steel from my trailer. If you can bring a couple jack stands though that would be good as my 300zx is using most of mine

 

Snow is giving me a break from work so I picked up RDR2 and enjoying playing it lately. They did a good job, good entertainment for $60

Different kind of entertainment I suppose. Usually costs me more to go exploring with the truck as we try to take trips that take us away from home.

 

Lol, yeah me too. I’m happy though. Haven’t played a game like this in a long time. So much to do and see

 

Ah, yeah I play the main story when I want, usually is the last mission I pick when I’m bored of something else. I like to explore and do all the side missions first. Only on chapter 3 I think

 

Lol yeah I’ve tried to canoe unsuccessfully to get below black water and go explore. Fell through the map once in a glitch and got too close to boundary and sank the canoe the second time. I want to google hints on certain treasure maps, but opt not to because I don’t want get hit with a spoiler. So far so good.

 

Sluggo blew a head gasket, confirmed lol. Had a professional diagnose my crank no start. I tried a compression test last night and the results were so bad i didnt tust that I did it right. He ran electrical diagnostics, all those systems looked good...cylinder 1 and 2 were at like 140, cylinder 3 and 4 had nothing. So it looks like I get to tear the head off and see whats up! Also mentioned the engine had noticable blowby...no surprise at 217k lol

 

That's not good. Motor should be fine with that mileage.

You'll likely need new piston rings possible hone and a new head if it warped

 

If it was a simple I'd push for this. But no motor swap is.

 

How will I know if warped or needing new rings? Take it to a machine shop?

If you have blowby you've got back piston rings.

If the head warped you'll likely have to get it messured at an engine shop. It's common though if they get too hot from a blown hg
