Yeah at this point. Its as close to everything I grew up around and love. And its in the field I want to be in AND I'm probably making more money than I could anywhere else doing audio at a place like this, especially for my age. Pretty close to picture perfect for me.

I'd love to be in Wyo again though. And that isn't impossible as technology catches up working offsite might be do able in the future. We just setup a VPN so my assistant that live in CO can access all the files easily. So its not impossible. But I don't mind it here. It the same but different. I know once I have a place of my own with a shop, I'll be super happy.

Feel super grateful really to be doing this stuff in the way I do it where I do it.

Congrats on the raise, bonus & promo! You are fortunate indeed, your boat is not crowded. Mostly you just have to worry about the deer on the road-in the dark-around the blind corner!
    Oh. and truck parts.

    Take care, John

    Thanks John!

Yes truck parts! :p although I have been splurging hardcore on audio gear lately :anonymous: Hoping to build a really nice in home mixing studio eventually.

But yes! Not crowded up here besides the deer. Though that does make finding affordable housing a bit difficult..not impossible now though.

Ouch. Thats about as bad as ProTools..

Damn. I want to design some stuff with 80/20 before buying stuff but none of the software is free. Was bummed to see Google had bailed on Sketchup.

I’m gonna butt in again cause I can.

I have a drafting class next semester that I’m Kinda excited for :D.

I dunno if it’s Auto CAD or Solid Works but I’m excited either way. Only down side is that it’s at 7:30 in the morning...

I did CAD in highschool all 4 years. Took the last real drafting class offered too. Its super cool stuff.

oh yeah I know. I'll have to pay 1000+ a year for HDX.

What are you trying to draw up? I have AutoCAD and Inventor, I won't say I'm an expert in either one though.

Sketchup is still free - https://www.sketchup.com/products/sketchup-make (there's a link for SketchUp Make 2017 for desktop), just not the newest version. Tons of folks still using that in the woodworking circles...

And congrats! Glad to hear you got that raise.

Nah has to be a double cab. Already is an extended cab haha

Nothing crazy. Literally racks for audio gear. Just using 80/20. If simple racks go well then Id maybe attempt a full desk for audio gear as well.

There are a ton of cool componets but its hard to get it all right in my head and even on paper without knowing how some of the pieces work fully. And its too pricey really to experiment with in person.

    So something simple like this:

    upload_2018-12-11_20-9-59.jpg

    or this:

    upload_2018-12-11_20-10-25.jpg

Notice the black rails, that is the part that would need bolted to the 80/20 as thats what holds the audio gear.

Then eventually if all goes well trying something like this:

    upload_2018-12-11_20-11-12.jpg

    and this:

    upload_2018-12-11_20-11-37.jpg

I could just make this all out of wood of course but I think the 80/20 could be cool.

Can look real nice with a few touches:

    upload_2018-12-11_20-41-40.png

huh looked like I had to buy it last I was there. Thanks! Have to check it out..guessing my OS is too old to run it lol

Thanks! Super stoked! Went above and beyond my original goal. So that's nice.

Wow, those desks look...complex haha. It looks like there are free online designer programs for building simple stuff with 80/20, they probably have all the extrusions and brackets, etc already programmed in so it'd be pretty easy. At least to get some visuals for how it'd go together.

Ah think I found it! Will try it.

    Thanks Dan.

The desk looks complicated but it's really not. Just a top and a couple of tubes at an angle.

Damn it. Needs windows to run. And looks super rudimentary. See if I can use Sketchup.

Fuck can't use that either. My OS is too old lol

Think its time to buy a new computer..

damn haha, well let me know if you need something drawn up in Inventor, it's pretty simple with stuff like that. I can probably find a .step file of the 80/20 already made, just need to extrude it to the right lengths in the model.

Thanks man! I'm really stoked they followed through after the sudden change earlier this year. Worked out well for me and future still looks even more promises too.

Yeah I made an account and looks like I have access to all the extrusions now. I'll see what happens. After topping off the retirement fund I'll probably buy a new computer haha I'm well over due

OK, just posted day 8 of the Re-Tour (The Re-Tour Day 8: Boulder Basin, My Favorite Trail) which I usually don't plug here because well, I think most folks are checking it out already anyway... But today is too good to pass up commentary on a few photos, and it happened in WY so.

Love this shot of The Redhead - mud flying out as he dropped down into the hole.

Big Truck, Small Truck. Felt much less out of place this year.

Last year, it was Big Truck, Medium Truck, Tiny Truck

Always comforting to have this set of guys checking out possible problems
    [IMG]

I'll let Monte explain this one, if it needs explaining.

Super cool to see Mike make this obstacle, relatively easily. I know he'd been looking forward to it since last year when he winched out
    [IMG]

Love this shot - so indicative of our days. And sheesh, what 35's can do for you. Almost makes want to get them. Almost.

    Nice Mike.

OK, that's that. Loved that trail and the fun we had on it guys. @Blackdawg @Digiratus @Speedytech7 @drr
