Dunno, I mean, as I recall there was an attempt to fix it up but except for a scattering of LBJ bolts I haven't seen any part of that rig on the trail for at least a year now...

Probably for the better - reliability of those fake first gens was always suspect.

well we made it till christmas before winter seemed to finally set in.

 

Yep, finally. I'm loving it. I grew up in Phoenix, had enough hot weather for a lifetime.

I was enjoying the mostly snow free winter so far. Compared to last year it has been awesome.

 

I can relate to this. However, I chose rain and a moderate winter over snow and ice.

 

So did my brother. I never did like rain very much. A good snow storm on the other hand I can really get into.

 

I can see the appeal. But I wonder if I would tire of it in the long run. It changes everything you do.

 

Doubt it. Every day is a fun adventure for driving haha and not like you go outside a lot now in the winter anyways

 

Q: Front diff fill plug - same on a 1st gen Tacoma and 3rd gen runner? For some reason my 4Runner seems to need a 12mm hex key, when I expected 10mm, like the Tacoma.

Wondering if the thread pitch is the same and I can just replace with a Tacoma plug to make tooling easier.
