    I just ordered a yorktown tool roll from Atlas 46. Expensive, but it should be worth it for saved space and organization.

    My tools are in several different places, include things I'll never need, and also probably included multiple redundant items.

    Time to sort that out and get organized.

    This one is less that a year old. Maybe it is just debris like the cv axle seal was. :notsure:

    It really is groundhog day with you and me.

    I backed the Taco out of the garage to weld up some sliders for the 4Runner today and I found a leak on the floor too. Quick look at the front diff and I didn't see anything, and I had work to do, so I put off more investigation until tomorrow...but now that you mention where your leak is, the position seems suspiciously close to where the front output shaft enters the diff.

    Stop getting leaks, would you? ;)

    As long as you're having fun and not getting burnt out, that's what matters. :thumbsup:

    Nah, this isn't a Ben-mobile :rofl:. Got it so that we could take mini.turbodb on trips and not have her crammed in the ExtCab - she's getting a bit big for that. So it's getting sliders, a bit of suspension, and a roof rack.

    Sliders are 50-50. Bought a weld-yourself kit of parts; got them positioned, cut to size, and welded up today, need to clean them up and paint them, then install.

    No. Debris that might have been forced in there from silt laden moving water. We did several sketchy creek crossings on this last trip.

    That is my working theory on why the driver's side front axle seal was leaking. Cleaning out the debris from the seal stopped the leak. The seal itself was not bad and didn't get replaced.

    My axle seals are still originals so I've never done that job. The only things I know about replacing the front axle seals is what I saw in that video by Timmy the Toolman.

    I have no idea what seal it is really - I never found the oil source. Just guessing based on ground location. Will look more closely tomorrow. Maybe by then it will have fixed itself. hahahahaha

    wasn't from splahing through puddles. It was from very fast moving deep deep creek crossings from fresh rain fall. 2 bad ones.

    Plus Mike hits the puddles just as hard as we do for fun all the time :rofl:

    I doubt they are originals. Im sure they replaced them when you did your front diff.

    I think he is correct. The creek crossings I was referring to were pretty major. The water was fast moving and quite deep and very silty. The puddles not so much.

    The likelihood of a splash from a puddle messing with seals that are mostly covered from direct water contact in that situation from skids seems basically impossible. That's what they are made to do.

    Thick mud may contribute to a front diff seal. But not a tcase one.

    One of the water crossings was on the verge of moving the trucks. That one could do that kind of damage. Actually it did move all of our trucks as we exited the crossing and the bed was submerged. It was a serious water crossing. One that looking back on mere seconds after crossing realized I should not have done that. It was life threatening honestly.

    That kind of water could easily push into a seal and it makes sense as it was hitting is from the passenger side. Which is why I didn't see quite how bad it was in real time

    The other was also quite deep. But we were driving into the current through a deep hole. That one could do the tcase easily. Though that one wasn't as dangerous but still pretty damn serious.

    I know I'm the one that "exaggerates" the stories. But I'm not this time. It was bad. Stupid and foolish really. Well..the second one. First was was just adventourous. Mostly..
