idk gage, the morning we woke up in Idaho and it was 10 I shot a few with my cam that was that cold and it worked great, no issues all was normal... is your's showing condensation/frost?

im not sure how your camera works gage for focus..does it have multiple points? or what? caus the blue light isn't in focus but a part of the back ground is. Im wondering if you ahve the focus point on auto select and it selected the area to the left that was brighter and lighter so it choose that.

 

Yea x2 on how your cam works gage, I have no idea... Were you talking about it not focusing well when the frost was building up on your lens? that seems weird to me... (it's dry as shiz in WY) When it gets dark I hit my focus point with a flashlight and focus the shot then shut the flashlight off and take the shot, seems to help the cam focuz well on autofocus stuff.

 

yea okay thats the issue then. You need to figure out how to control where it focuses. since yours has the touch screen i wouldn't be surprised if it was just focused where you touched.

 

Yea.... Gage for sure change your cam to only have one focus point! Otherwise it will always do what you have been experiencing. The canons monte and I have allow you to choose one or how ever many points you want as a focus point. But really I have always left my cam on the center square for focus metering.

 

Yea i change mine when i need too. for offset shots ill use corner points.

I will also say i got to shoot a nice Nikon in Seatle since this couple asked me too take their photo..was cool how their focus points worked..had like twice as many too..

 

number of focus points is over done imo... give me my one and im happy as a clam.

 

Im happy with my ..what..9? haha i use them when framing a shot but majority just on center.

 

yea true when I get crazy on a tripod I'll set the focus to a different square...

Nice work on the cover Marc!! When I was looking at that pic the texture of RTT looks so life like I thought I could touch it and it would feel like the sides of the tent!

 

That pic came out real nice! 30 second exposure with a big bright moon!
