No sliders good to know. I'll not plan anything crazy. I might not have a skid either unless I get a new radiator. So will see how that works out.

But cool. What kind of rack? You just going to build a new one?

I still want your supercharger haha just not sure I should..

There was one in laramie on Craig's for like $150. Was going to do that if it's still available. If not I will chop the back part off the one I built to make it fit the short bed. I have an unbuilt relentless rear bumper that I will add a tire mount to when I get around to it.

No, its their basic one I think, can't remember the name. I'm sure I'll have to add more on a side for the swing out but that's easy.

Lol idk. There isn't much left to do that I don't have a plan on. Only thing unknown left is here in a couple weeks if when I go to start it, if it has an immobilzer I will have to send out the ECU to have it deleted. That would probably be the nail in the coffin for trying to take it on that trip

That is an outstanding price, even if it is an older model in need of a rebuild. A model 7600 is like 8 bills new.

Security system essentially, allows the engine to crank, but the ECU won't send the command to the fuel pump and injectors for ignition to take place. Keys/fobs have chips in them that trigger a transponder on the steering column that sends a pulse to ECU saying it's ok to fire. Since the engine didnt come with its original key and transponder I would be boned if it has it activated. There is no way to trick it, only ways are to resync a new key or pull one of the eeprom chips from the board and open it up using a computer program and turn it off.

Was the nicer 7600 and don't lol k to be in super bad shape just dusty.

Was only up for 3 hours. If it hadn't been so far away I'd have been more serious about going to get it. Crazy good deal.

Ah. Well then. That doesn't sound good. No way to hot wire that? There has to be something you can do

It's pretty air tight. Even the Toyota techs dont get schooled on a bypass. You woukd need to hire an electrical engineer to create something that would duplicate the pulse and it creates two pulses, one for the first 5 seconds of run time then another for keeping it running after. I was fortunate to stumble across the delete method which makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint. Just have micro chips that you can select options of what to activate and what not that way your not making several ECU's across a platform

Lol well funny you ask, the Toyota Diesel swap source them self offered to do it. I saw an ad on eBay from DT austrailia offering the delete so I emailed the one here in the states asking if they were the same company. Turns out they are not although it has the same logo somehow? Anyway they offered to do it. I sent them a pic of my motherboard and they responded to contact them when it came time to start it. I have a hunch that it doesn't have it by their answer, which is why I bought it in the first place.

Couple ideas yes. I'm going to look at permits again tonight to see if one works better than the other. Be in canyon lands for part of it doing some hikes.

    @BossFoss @turbodb

So looking at Canyon Lands for the first bit. Exploring Horse Canyon and staying at Peekaboo. Then run Elephant Hill to get over to the other side. Goal then would be to hike Joint Trail to Druid Arch and maybe Chesler park on the way out. Stay in Bobby Joe or run out of the park to the really cool site Mike and I found last time.

Run from there out and over toward Blanding(all dirt) and go to a large Ruin site. Then cut over through Bears Ears to Natural Bridge to walk it. Then head north from there and hit a few Art painting things that I've apparently driven by like 10 times..Time depending can do something else that way as well by Hanksville or whatever.

Hows that sound? I need to call about road conditions for Bobby's Hole. Might have to do something different to get to the ruins depending on snow.

Otherwise I was thinking a couple cool things in the swell/Capital Reef then trying to go back to hit Zebra/Spooky/Peekaboo/Brimstone Gulch slot canyons.

You can. Don't know the exact road numbers, but you can get all the way to natural bridges on dirt. There's also tons of offshoots to explore off that route that I need to add to the list.

Shouldn't be too bad getting an elephant hill permit this time of year. I went in the back way last time to avoid it, but we did get a permit for lavender the day before with no issue. Bobby's hole was zero problem.

Make sure to spend some time in beef basin too.

Yeah, sounds good to me. Only asking if we don't make it on the 23rd if we would be able to meet up easily. Not sure of our schedule entirely yet.

    Ha!

Yeah you can take 88 most the way. Then it becomes a rats nest of options in the FS. nots of roads back in there. I've been there twice now with Mike.

I still haven't done Monument. Need too. You better to Valley of the Gods too. And then theres the Goose Neck you will want to stop at too. Looks way cooler than Horse Shoe Bend.

I've found several routes to Natural bridges on all dirts. Tons of roads. I've never not gotten a permit for Elephant hill. But I suppose it can happen haha We did Bobby's hole a couple years ago. I think that route out Devils Lane is so gorgeous. Way better than the main route in and out. Super cool.

Need to research Beef Basin a bit more, I have lots of road data but need to find the reasons to go there. could work out timing wise to kick around there for part of day.

Do you have a GPS setup for the rig? I can give you the trip tracks Im putting together. We will be running APRS so you can find us. How easy it will be? Not sure. Not super easy to anywhere back there from the highways. That said, its not impossible and you could do it Im sure.

Yeah its not even hardly rough. However back there is a TON of sandy conditions. So if the weather's been bad Id imagine it can be sloppy as hell. Devils Lane is awesome though.
