You're not unbolting the tcase are you? No need to for a clutch.

 

Just pop it in gear in 4wd and use a 3' breaker bar or so. Should come right off.

Cause youd be moving the whole truck if the shaft moved. If so higher gear. 3rd

 

You're just turning the engine over.

Front or rear output seal? You can just put the breaker bar up against the frame and tap the starter with the clutch engaged and the clutch start cancel button.

 

oh you pulled both shafts. Well thats your issue. Do the starter technique Brett mentioned then.

 

Stake nut: 90179-22016

Mine was not easy to remove. It took the rear driveshaft installed, the t-case in 4lo for the impact gun to be able to spin it off.

edit: Using the same gun, took off the 4 14 mm nuts on the companion flange with the tcase in neutral.

I luv my M18 Fuel impact. One of the better tool investments I've made.

 

thought about getting one myself. I just love Air tools. But seeing as I don't have air up here(yet) the M18 and M12s are appealing. Make a lot of work a lot faster.

 

I've used it on a lot of things now. It isn't the bigger model but has been plenty for everything I've asked of it. But just barely in the case of the stake nut on the output shaft. Also found it to be small enough to fit in all the places I've needed it to. #milwaukeefanboi

 

An old blade screw driver could be ground down to fit in the slot to wedge out the dent more if you have a grinder of sorts. Worked well when I just did 3 of them.

 

You can hire a broker, when I was looking at one I got ahold of one in Co. He charged me I think $500, but since I didn't win the auction he refunded my money. Find a nice DC?

 

yeah I did. Goes tomorrow though. Don't know if I can get a broker that fast. no photos of the frame either which kind of has me a bit leery. Just randomly checked tonight. Should have been doing it more regularly. Its in CO too so not too far.

Dang, nice shape, hard to believe they would have totaled that. Yeah you should watch it, probably blow your mind and make you wish even more you had bought SC'd Blackie. The one I had looked at had way worse damage, I think less miles and went for $8,000. I think I was willing to spend like 3-4 and I was quickly out of the running lol. I think that was 2014, I'd be curious to see if it's the same or if things have calmed down a bit.

 

Wow haha that's nuts. I think things have calmed a little but not a lot on 1st gen DC. Still desirable but now some 2md gen double cabs are same price or even cheaper so really getting to the point where you'd only buy one because you really love them.

I really do wish I'd just bought it. Stupid of me. Yet smart at the same time I guess. Still would have been ideal.
