Yup, this place is getting pretty homogenized and boring, I'm glad I can still talk to you guys but I've given up on new folks almost entirely. Has to be all good thoughts and happy safe topics nowadays so all the people with real insight have left. God forbid you mention cutting or grinding anything near a 3rd genner, makes em yell for a mod in seconds.

 

They probably get the most new Toyota owners in the 3rd gen section so they screen it more to keep people coming back would be my guess.

 

Stereo went into the 4 runner easy...backed out of the garage, hit the rear wiper...nothing...hit the rear defroster...nothing . Swear I double checked that I reconnected everything back there.

 

I hate that, it's never halfway either. It's always when it's all back together

 

I checked all the climate controls, I’m going to put a 3.5mm stereo jack in the last center console blank, it can wait until then.

 

Okay that is just stupid and fucked up.

So I’m getting ready to do the stereo in the Tacoma. This is the first time I’ve more than glanced at my bussman since I got it. I realize I have it upside down in the bracket, I’m having to get creative due to the location of clutch master cylinder. Pardon my ignorance, but where does this thing ground?

 

I think it was foreskinner. Or at least he was the mod in the thread. The ban was a reaction to the reason he posted a pic, to get a reaction. I didn't see the pic but the call out was the way it depicted a trapped animal. Something about a leg strap.

Grounding depends on how it's wired up as there are several ways to do so.

I see no ground leads coming out of the block. Do I just run power to the lights and then run grounds off of them to wherever it is most convenient? I guess what I’m asking is I just connect red wire on my accessories to the power wire and black wire grounds wherever I can?

 

I guess my point of confusion is that I know what a relay does is apply a ground to a circuit. Makes me think the relays need to be grounded at the board. Does the negative side of the terminal ground the relays in this case?

 

Yeah, nothing new there. How many years have we had to put up with his shenanigans...

So let me understand this... $2500 so you can use your awning? I mean, you can't pack any more in the bed since you'd never want to travel with it up. Weird.

 

How often does a bed rack need to be adjusted?

 

If you paid $2500 for it, I'd say pretty much every time you stop the truck.

Not that an movable rack couldn't be nice - I like the idea of hinging up on one side for easier bed access. I just think they missed the mark on this one, except for cool factor.

 

Saw it at Overland Expo last year. Was pretty cool to see, but definitely too expensive for my tastes.

It would be cool if the struts were more integrated so they didn't effect bed storage so much when lowered and you could set it to any height from min to max instead of just 2 heights.
