    well..the headers are iffy from CX. Know to leak a bit. But usually you have to replace ALL the hardware in the kit. So all the gaskets..and the clamps..hoses..shit like that. Really better off just getting the headers and turbo and everything else yourself. Which will push the price wellllll past 1k.

    Then the other part is the tuning. You'll be constantly tuning it for probably 2 years would be my guess to get it run good. A lot of people don't take that into account and get sick of it and the issues it can present. Thats just normal for boosted life in general though, even for factory boosted cars that you decide to take up a few notches.

    Monte I have the driver door inside panel off and looking at the handle mechanism. What all did you clean up on yours and what did you use? Did you lube the moving parts afterwards?

    I just used wd40 to get the dust out of there. Didn't spray any lube. Still buttery smooth.

    I sprayed all the linkage in there. Then I also spray the actual mechanism. I have some photos I'll find them

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    If only the factory SC worked worth a damn on its own, but it doesn't, even with the archaic FTC boxes and extra injector the performance gain to heat introduced is crap. If you're going to turbo, you're going to pay, no way around it.

    I pieced together some eBay turbo goodies for my T100 and I think a low boost setup could be done for $1500. Supposedly the 01-04 5vz taco ecus can be unlocked and tuned. What are you doing that it would take 2 years to tune?

    Not sure how I haven't noticed any detonation yet on my 3rz at 4.7psi. Going up long hills with afrs only around 13.


    I think when people sell it they pull the turbo stuff off and sell it separately to make more.
