The house I just looked at was 1800 sq ft. Easly could have add on another 600'.

When was the last time you guys went through? 2014?

 

Judging by the fact that the house is 3/4 of a million dollars, the PO probably didn’t care about the heat bill that much.

Yeah should be fun. Have a lot of gear to build and more to just get before I have a real nice setup at the house again. But getting there.

Ive found on my soldering work bench that I wish i had light behind me too that was just as bright. Not sure how im gonna do that yet though.

@Blackdawg Do you coat the boards after their all tested?

Way back when, I needed to be NASA certified to solder boards (school). I only did it when there was time crunch. Fun for the short time but too much sitting. Since all the boards were headed to space they were coated with some kind of plastic. Purpose of which to protect the circuits from any stray metal bits (wire clippings & small drill or tapping chips) that might escape from... floating and shorting circuits. After the dip coating and before curing they were put in a vacuum chamber to degas the coating and to force it under the components. Didn't want the launch vibration to shake the parts off. It was different then all discrete components instead of a few chips; hand instead of wave soldering.

You can buy conformal coating in an aerosol can too if you’re planning on going this route, Monte.

No I don't plan on that. My stuff definitely won't be going to space so no need but that makes sense from a safety point.

In fact for me it's the opposite, I'll want mine easily repairable and the ability to modify the circuit. I'm adding small daughter boards to these..even tho there 4 already, to create an insert point in the circuit.

I used to use 4-5 of those at Tim's place. Or similar anyways.

Weren't battery powered though. Helped a lot.

And the LC looks good in there but I'm wondering how much clearance you have for the roof. Looks like a tight fit.

 

The wideangle lens is just playing tricks, it has about 4 inches off the roof rack which is going in the shit can soon. But on 35s and with the tent it will have zero hopes of being garage-able which is fine, it is robust, it can enjoy the great outdoors full time
