Wasn't that project like two years ago? Takes a while to get published.

 

Just over a year actually! I recorded it on May 5thish I think. Skipped Grants Graduation for it haha

Worth it I think.

Another record comes out soon I had a very very tiny role in... insignificant really. But still cool to help a bit. Between that and this a Grammy nomination is high. Be cool!

A fee if the records I'm working on now could do well too in that regaur possibly. Will see. But yes took over a year with a good size crew working on it. Me alone, it's taking me almost 2 years. But I have to do a lot if other things besides just edit and mix.

 

So I finally replaced the battery in the Corolla yesterday. 8 years, 80 K miles is pretty good right. Well, this must have been the first time the car has ever been without 12V for any period of time because it was a major reset for all of the systems. It would barely idle and seemed to lack power the first time I drove it after the battery change. I realize the ECU adapts and learns but this was rather drastic. It took about ~20 or so miles of driving for the idle to get right and for the fuel gauge to read correctly. Was kinda weird.

 

That is weird.

Gonna replace the battery in the little truck today myself.

Also more likely to get nominated for the performance. Not the engineering. I want an engineer Grammy which is hard to do.

Considering it's mostly a popularity contest really. It'll take time for that. But some of the people I'm working with are very well know in the classical word so they could have a chance at a performance Grammy. Which is still great for me as I producer the recording. But I'd still rather have one for engineering.

 

That's pretty typical for more modern vehicles after having their power removed. When you unplugged it, it had learned that it had a dirty throttle body, a couple injectors that are underperforming, and exhaust with a bit of restriction, and a crazy nut rowing the gears. Now it's essentially been factory reset and it thinks it's brand new and everything should work as if brand new but that naive fuel map doesn't work so well after a bit of age and wear cause conditions have changed. Once it relearns it'll be great again. Could take about a week of driving to get those fuel trims back on point

@Blackdawg , as I recall you used to spray weeds in the summer. Any recommendations for herbicides that aren’t roundup and can be used to specifically target white top and sheep’s ear?

 

Chaparral is the shit. It's basically a package mix of Milestone and Escort.

I'm not sure if you can buy it without an applicators license or not though. I think you can as milestone is bad and neither really is escort.

That's what I primarily used and I swear it grows grass. It works really well on white top. It's also residual for a few years. It kills basically any broadleaf plant. So becarful around trees but even then if applied right you'll be fine. It's not cheap but damn it works great.

 

Oh and using a surfactant helps a lot too.

 

Hmm just looked. Looks like you can buy it but only seeing the large 1.25lb bottles. Which would likely last you 10+ years easily if you applied it every year haha

I'd visit your local weed and pest district to see if you can get a smaller jug of it. The Teton county is a decent district.

Yeah sprayed alot of that around Powell and Cody. It's amazing stuff.

Can go back where you sprayed the year before where white top was spilling into the right of way from a field and there will be a perfect line with the fence where white top is and isn't. Pretty cool.

 

You think that would knock down poison ivy @Blackdawg ?

 

Hmm. I'm not totally sure. But it's a broad leaf so it should. I'll check the applicators notes. You'd definitely need surfactant for that to help it stick to the oilly leaves.

 

Well it's not listed in the weeds as one it would control. But that said I'd be surprised if it didn't work.

But be an expensive experiment so I'm not sure I'd recommend it. But could be worth a shot. I'd follow mix instructions similar to salt cedar.

 

Well. I should never buy oil again for a while..sheesh

 

10-4. Poison ivy is a tough one. It takes multiple applications of round up brush killer to slow it's growth here.
