I only applied at the college because I don't really like just sitting around at home and it's something to do that pays. But I'm trying pretty damn hard to start a career in machining because there is demand here and it's right up my alley.

Also I forgot to ask earlier, what turbo and manifolds did you get for the single cab?

Great benefits at colleges too. Least in Wyoming..

Machining would be cool. You can make me custom things

Manifold is cx racing that's been modified so the wastgate isn't dumped but plumbed back in which is great for me as it'll still be a DD.

I hunted hard for a turbo in a size I wanted. Couldn't find the perfect one from BW or Garrett really. Gonna just grab a cx turbo to start to see if it'll just be to small and if a bigger one will be better. Can't remember the specs off the top of my head I'll post when I'm back home from work. Thought about a billet driftmotion turbo 67mm with .58 A/R turbine. Kind of what I want. Tight exhaust side for fast spool, ball bearing billet and a bigger compressor so I won't have to run a high pressure. Would like to stay under 10psi if possible and be happy. But want full boost by 24-2500rpms at the highest. Prefer 2k due to torque curve of the 5vz.

The benefits would be nice, be cool to have medical insurance long enough to get my jaw fixed finally.

I can ask my friend what he thinks, he's like a savant with compressor maps and turbine housing sizing, he knows some good china turbo brands too. Tells me most of them aren't necessarily bad but because they're made so cheaply a lot of the machining dust and grit is left in them and that's why some last and some just grenade in short order. So as long as you get it and immediately tear it down and clean it all and maybe take a minute to clean the casting flash up for extra flow they're pretty solid choices.

I'm with ya on the dumping the wastegate back into the exhaust flow. Gonna do that on the cruiser too, a screamer pipe just seems reckless for a vehicle I want to drive where wildfires are a possibility.

Yeah I'm not bad at compressor map reading. Think it'll be good.

I figure for 600 bucks I can find a turbo I like and then splurge later for an efr or something once I know the size will work how I want. Reliability isn't there but fine for about two years.

Yeah dump pipes are just too damn loud. Wastgate is still divorced though

    Both.

    I'd want .58 turbine on a t4 and .63 on t3 I think.

This is true, and I hope I don't hear it too much because the population density is pretty nice right here.

I tend to agree, but there are business and jobs here that don't require me to slave in a mine....

I look at it this way, Spokane has people but it's literally the only major city over here and 15mi away from it in any direction throws you back into rural (where I am) or semi-rural (north) area. The west side is just populous hell in every direction and just thinking about it gives me anxiety. I will do just about anything to avoid entering Seattle proper.

Once I find a place with a garage we can all meet in the middle in Idaho and have turbo days! Lol

Went up to Medicine Bow yesterday to look for some dispersed camping spots that id like to go camping at, but ended up accidentally getting on an offroad trail. Im going to have to go back to look for some more but I now think Medicine Bow is one of my top favorite National Forests i've been to.

“Camping Season” is finally winding down, so hopefully there’ll be a lot less humans running muck on the forest roads.

The last few weekends have been a joke.

I don't know about underrated, the main hiking trail by Lewis lake was an absolute shit show last I was there.

I do like the Snowys though. Lots of good fishing and a couple of decent trails to wheel.

McCall, ID. Hoping to find a place to buy in Donnelly or Cascade before winter hits. If not I'll likely be buying a lot and building next year.
