That's a costly weight loss plan. Maybe try one of those dietary pyramid schemes first... Or a different vehicle haha

The crossmember is the mount in the front and mid mounts.

I believe the center of the crossmember drops down so it's not straight across. I think @jubei confirmed this.

I'm pretty sure play sand is terrible for your health when used in a blaster.

While I admire the effort. The compromises will be a challenge regardless.

I haven't been running my mid skid all year, so truck is actually lighter than that. :p

Kinda thinking I'll never run it again. All it did was decrease ground clearance. Need to just make a little skid for the tcase and call it good. Not worried about the trans at all. Might be different with a slush box.

I think anything coming out of a blaster is terrible for your health. For sure whatever surface you're abrading is. I didn't figure I needed to tell him to wear a respirator. If I do, then you should get this one Ben.

    What's life without challenges?! ;)

I did this challenge a long time ago remember my truck only weighed 4800 lb with me in it. Thankfully now with the new vehicle I don't have to do that. There's very little risk of it cracking apart.

Not much more than your rtt.

This is why aluminum is fine I think. Not likely to hit it there but when you do it'll do it's job. Probably get ruined too but save the tcase.

The auto does hang down a LOT more than the manual. It's a whole nother oil pan to worry about.

    Speaking of...

    Mine is still slipping.

Local wrecked extended cab for $1000 with a manual ...........tempting.

Curious what you come up with. I definitely think it's worth the piece of mind knowing that nothing on your belly can be damaged. I've seen a truck get a rock in between both crossmembers and it took a little creativity to get out of that predicament.

The new Toyota 86 is said to come with a 2.4l turbo possibly. Over 250hp maybe. That'll be great

Well that's 2 years and change so if it's true that's about right for Toyota to get em out there. Likely mostly dependant on Subarus schedule since the car is 80% subi

@m3bassman You can get sandbox sand at lumber yards (usually), hardware store, maybe HD or Lowes.

    That's my only concern.

Need to play around a little.

I'm going to build a little crossmember off the factory sway bar mounts to support the back of the IFS skid. Maybe I'll tie a couple pieces into the trans crossmember with some UHMW or something. Need to see how much that weights. Just don't need a 2x4' sheet of 3/16" like I have now... I also don't want it to go further back than the tcase. That's where I get hung up the most.

Damn that was my idea :p The sway bar mounts a perfect skid mounts.

UHMW would be cool but its not light. Not in the thickness you'd need for it to be to not rip off when used.

    Yeah...thats why I said supposedly..

True, the EJ20 is finally dead after this year. Took them long enough.

Supra can't come in a manual..thats a major turn off.

Yes they will just recycle a motor. Thats the way it is now. Why a lot of are speculating it'll be the 2.2l turbo.

WY mud is unforgiving! Riding trails in thunder basin and it's about impossible with this grey colored peanut butter vaseline infused mud.

Do people that know better just stay off it till it dries?

    Welcome to Bentonite Mud!

No there is no real good way to avoid it other than staying off it. Its all over Wyoming and Utah and probably lots of other places.

Its like super glue, so the best thing to do is to wash it ASAP cause if it dries you'll never get it totally out from under your truck.
