No. Second. My parents were looking for a 4x4 tacoma in Northwest FL and found this one the day it was traded in for a camrey. A few weeks later I ran into the previous owner in our walmart parking lot. I came running across a few rows yelling "HEY thats my truck". He then gave a quick summary of what he did to it. 3" spacer lift and wider tires is all I got out of him before his phone rang and he left.

    Thanks I will try that.

^^Yeah I remember that from earlier.

    Should be 4.10s for a base 5 speed 4banger 4x4

If you have bigger tires. That's why your speedo is off. Although it should be reading slower.

The door sticker says stock came with 245/75/16 I am currently running 255/70/16 and when I did the tire calc thingy they were almost the same diameter just wider

Yeah, that was my thought at first, but it should be reading slower for bigger tires. Going to a lower diff gear will make it read faster though.

    So... :notsure:

Haha yeah but they were brand new so I couldn't justify getting rid of them yet. I know smaller will make it read faster but will it really read that much faster. Speedo says 85 while gps has me at 73

Yep. When I had 33s over my 31s was about 3-6mph off depending on e speed as it's a ratio that it's off. Doesn't take much. That and Toyota is notorious for making their speedo fast anyways

Man thats crazy. I assume there is no easy fix for this is there? I am going to have a date with the toyota dealer in Laramie for the access cab seatbelt holder recall, oil change, and 100,000 mile maintenance since it is frowned upon to do car work in the parking lot of the apartments I will be at.

You can buy an Ultragauge and calibrate it to read correctly. Won't fix your speedo but at least you will know how fast you are going.

The manuals have a gear tooth in the tcase like 1st gens do to read speedo, but no one makes gears and no one has had any luck finding gears to work for it.

Digital calibrator runs you about $200 which is crazy to me...

I am running an app called dash command that hooks up to the on board computer over the wifi to my phone which then displays on my head unit and in that app I have it so it knows to correct the speed.

Yeah there is a wifi dongle plugged in to the OBD2 connection. I guess I should have mentioned that.

Receiver winches are fine. But can be a pita when you need it. Sometimes they stick out too far and you can't get them in. Other then that tho. Nothing wrong with them. Still means you need a front receiver tho.
