    I understand where you guys are coming from. Certainly, the big repairs are done. But I am concerned about all the little stuff in getting it back together. All the broken clips, stripped bolts,bent hoses and twisted up wires. Those are all 18 years and 195K miles old. I'll rest a lot easier when it's all back together and running. :oops:

    Hopefully sooner than that.

    Per Tim @TMFF my King COs meet the description he has from King for their 'extended' version. From top hat to the center of the lower bolt hole they measure 19.5". So about .75" shorter that Dan's ADSs.

    Hard to measure that. And it's hard to get spec numbers from the manufacturer.

    It's less Tacoma and more mod
    That's a lot harder to measure from a standards standpoint too. What's fully collapsed? When the shock rod is entirely in the body and the endlink is touching the body, or when the coils bind (ideally the first one happens before this but coil choices vary and amount of initial compression with adjusters does too)... Or when the bottom coil bucket touches the body?

    For me, all this measuring is to try to understand what is happening to the shock towers. It is evident that the Kings are short when fully extended. At this point I'm not too concerned about their collapsed length.

    I still think you're barking up the wrong tree. Nor do the poly bushings matter.

    Interesting to know - sure.

    Any correlation to your broken coil bucket in comparison to other coilovers - doubtful.

    I think this is true. Im not sure you're going to find a direct answer as to what caused the bucket to fail other than the obvious. Too much weight and a ton of good ole abuse mixed with old age.

    Stuff and junk and things...
    Your shocks are ET per King. I can pull the last droop spacer to make them 0.25" longer.

    King designed those IFP coilovers a long time ago, probably 98ish, and they generally are very conservative on the lengths for OEM applications. So new companies like ADS starting from scratch can and will push the limits of travel more.

    Not really a simple way to do it other than patching it and sealing the patch.

    Only reinforcement is sewing in more fabric and sealing the seams. Or better habits of tucking in the tent fabric. Mine had a hole in it that the guy used the same material and this glue you heat up and place around the seam. Looked like shut but was waterproof

    And yeah by patch I meant sewing something over it. Could out so etching heavy duty in that area to help
