Can't do 80 but 70 is fine. Plus with 4.88s you'd feel under geared on the highway and be shifting a lot I'd think.

I mean Dan just swapped 4.88s to 5.29s. he's an auto which makes a difference. But still. I wouldn't bother with them.

 

Dan is running 4.56s with the auto.

 

Speaking of which, you can get a TG crawlbox for $1,650 right now with all the sales at Low Range.

285/75R17 is where it's at!

Almost as tall as a 315 without all the extra weight and clearance problems caused by the width.

See you've been super busy with the photo/video gig. Lots of travel! Looks fun!

The power suck isn't bad around town. You would notice your starts take a lot more but that's it. Once you hit 45 then you really notice it. Also 4lo feels like you're racing.

You won't want to stay at 4.10s at all. Do gears first if you have. You won't even be able to maintain 70mph on flat ground in 5th.

Like I said around town not a big difference. But soon as you hit the highway or the rocks it super sucks. You'll want to regear within a week or two.

Do it! It just comes with a 3-4k price tag ha

I know you think that. But it'll just kill your clutch and you'll hate it. So your mind will change haha so budget for it now. All I'm saying. I'd strongly recommend just waiting if your going to do it to afford the regear.

 

Then budget for a new clutch while you're at it probably haha

 

Eh just warning you. It's your truck. You cut it up in whatever order you want. I'm just telling you what it's gonna be like when you get to point A. I've been there after all.

Speaking of tires as well, I've been eyeing the MTRs in 275/80r17

Not as wide as I would like but that might be a good thing. But pretty damn tall..Taller than your 285/80's Brett

I'd be all over that size if they were available in something other than MTRs.

 

Why? I love the MTRs. I kind of want them..but not likely I'll do it. Unless I decide to finally purge Franks parts to Igor.
