Yes and no, it'll be out board of the frame but the frame is going to move too, so I dunno you decide if that means the same thing.

 

Is it? I've never valued it very highly, I just don't want a tire hanging low under there and a 35 ain't gonna fit anyhow.

 

Not likely in my case, pushing the frame over the axle closer together by about 6" per side to make room for shocks to occupy the space in the wheel well area (and up through it). And a 35 don't fit either way anyhow, don't really want to cut a hatch into the bed floor since that just kills actual useful space.

 

Doing a notch or full new frame?

in a perfect world...i'd so a link setup under the bed..

ah...yeah no not with a 35 no. But go for it.

 

Gonna step it inward entirely, not just a notch, but yeah similar idea. I'll make an x brace from the portion before the notch to the portion behind to strengthen it as well.

 

Dove tail the frame like a 2nd gen then. Cool.

 

Hey guys new to the site but From Cheyenne 3rd gen Taco....just curious on everyone’s opinion....Manual or Automatic?

 

What else do you want to put under there, it's vulnurable space and rather inconvenient to reach. Only way I can think to make great use of it would be a sealed drawer that pulls out through the bumper. Anything else would hamper departure or just look dumb.

 

Manual for me, though I have some autos and they're not the worst things, certainly not my first choice though.

It's not a very vulnerable space for sealed containers. My Jerry cans have been fine living down there the last two years. Doesn't hamper departure angles at all. It's also less leverage on the frame than placing them on a swingout.

Manual all day here. But have an auto as well. Which is fine and handy in it's own way. I just enjoy a manual more.

 

I just realized I've been on TW for 10 years. The anniversary past a few days ago. It's true, time flies by when you are having fun.

I meant more in the sense of unless it was sealed that area gets hit with a barrage of debris and liquid spray. I've hit my stock bumper plenty of times but while I had a tire (admittedly a small one) under the bed I don't recall hitting it.

 

Manual, but in a first gen package.

 

You still looking for a SC @Squeaky Penguin ? Going to be getting rid of the truck its on and it's not worth trying to sell with it. With the bashed in door it's going to a tougher sell with extra stuff on it.
