Still in the works, we were discussing which way we wanted to go on the trip between the 2. It will most likely still be our vehicle of choice. Blue truck has nothing for mods so could be alot of money to kit it out, might be better as a daily run around vehicle. Was comfy to drive though, seats are way better for long trips like that.

Edit: it will be awhile prob still, the garden I'm building was twofold, for heather as well as a memorial for her. Why it's kind of done a little more than normal. Plus we have the house and other things to deal with so, blue in the short term for sure. Simple road trips with slight off roading, no goose lake type adventures.

Gotcha. Very cool. Well in my experience it's fun to have two types of rigs! Haha

Sorry to hear about your Mom.

But congrats on the GFC. So that's up in the Boulder Mountains somewhere? That's on my short list for exploring and fishing.

Never have. I've seen videos of 3rd gens have white smoke come out of their exhaust on steep inclines or declines from possible oil burning but have never heard of getting a low oil warning. I'd be curious to know where the oil level sensor is on the pan...

Thanks Mike, had someone tell me at some point it would come and go in waves and so far that's pretty accurate.

So I have no knowledge of how that system works on a 3rd gen, but in the old days of my misspent youth, with that older technology, if the oil light came on it meant the pick up tube in the oil pan was dry and not able to draw up any oil. Even if it was momentary. For your situation, it may be there is some sort of float system that is used but :notsure:

Yeah north of escalate/Bryce in the Dixie national Forest. Basically followed the range up the east side all the way to SLC on the way home. You should go, plenty of fishing it looked like. We drove it just to see if it was something worth going back too. Highway 12 is a cool drive

Yeah, I feel like I've been on some pretty steep inclines and I haven't seen it either. Hopefully never will.

Mike's suggestion sounds reasonable too. Not sure how these 3.5's oil systems work.

Also, what is up with no storage pockets in the GFC? Is that an add on or what? I like it ,but lots of little things that should be there for the money.

Yup, that is what they say. Right now it is very difficult to clearly recall the good times because of those big waves of feelings.

If you allow those waves to wash through you, with time, they will loose their power and subside. Sounds like you have good support around you.

The first few models had them with the original tent material I think. Somebody posted pictures of a panel that fits perfectly with the front section of the shell that is up against the back of the truck cab.

    ***EDIT*** Found it

Thanks, I'll look into that. Was thinking more up in the tent there is nothing. Was wanting a place for my phone and pistol or just random things that may come up

Well got beat to another property again that was perfect. 40 acres, large house, attached garage and attached shop with uppers thats not finished that would have been great for the studio. Drug my feet for a day or so due to the price(420k) but was actually cheap for the land and house size.

Was going in today and an offer was accepted.

On top of that Devin's horse is now a problem that needs immediate attention. She'd been doing a free lease with a lady and it had been going well. We were hoping for 1 more year to get our stuff lined out but she is refusing to sign it.

Soooo now I'm looking for some to tow a horse from Maine! If anyone has any leads let me know.

Yeah, I've only driven the section between Boulder and Escalante, but that was a really cool drive.

Yeah, I'd like them too. A few people got them somewhere in the middle of current production, but I think they only did a small run before ditching them. :notsure: I've seen someone add them. Take a look over on the GFC forum if you haven't, its been pretty active after it blew up over here.

I'll check it out and see what's up. Seems pretty easy based on what is existing. Get some fabric/glue make a few pockets.

I can't remember off the top of my head where it was but one spot had you driving on the rocks on a really custom road that looked like they took their time building it not to damage any more than necessary.

Sorry for your loss man. I lost my Dad in my early 30’s, it’s a tough road. I have naturally become more focused on all the things we enjoyed together over time, wilderness/isolation, flying etc..., you’re on the right path, every day becomes a living memorial. God bless you and yours.

Still throw in a "backup" offer to them. You never know what will happen as the process moves along.

We close on our home in WY end of the month but after the home inspection we were very close to walking as the seller decided to be an ass. We just happened to be working with the realtor who was representing both us and the seller and she managed to talk some sense into the seller. Had she not we were going to walk. The seller had a backup offer that was accepted so if we had walked it would have gone right to them.

Which ends up being a good thing for the seller as now its looking like they want to rent it from us for a month or two after closing

Thanks man, definitely a life event that puts alot on the table and makes you rethink what's important and what to do with it moving forward.
