Montana. Wish I could be in Wyoming for my job but not a thing right now. Not sure it will ever be.

I have a decent amount of cash. But not tons. Doesn't matter, to play I have to spend a lot.

Probably not as much as you :p but still a lot. Feels like it to me especially as a person with literally no debts..ever. haha

ah nice. Montana is still sweet though. Certainly seeing its own boom. WY = no state income tax :D though with non renewable energy shrinking...im not sure where this state is going to get its money from. Can they implement income tax down the road? I suppose they can...would be pretty shitty if it happened lol.

Ive never had a loan in my life either lol. I hate debt, which almost fucked us on my credit score because i didnt have any diversity in credit lines besides credit cards. Still sitting at a 3% rate though, not too bad
Good ol high cost of living areas, we got the max single family conventional loan amount you can. Just numbers on a screen, playing the american game to get the american dream.

Yeah no sales tax here though haha high property tax though I believe.

WY is in serious trouble. And no one there is progressive enough to make changes or no one progressive enough can get into office. Hell, progressive isn't the right term, smart is. Forward thinking was all that take. Funny enough Idaho is the example here of a state that did it right. Did not do a good job diversifying their economy. Though I'll admit, Im not a fan of Wind farms which is something they've tried a bit. They ruin the views and the cost to build them and maintain them offest anything. Solar would be better I think. But they will die before giving up their coal and oil haha

The schools are in serious trouble though. Wyo has always been very very giving to schools and paying for most their budgets but now they just can't.

They can implement taxes whenever they want, but likely would be political suicide for whoever did that haha But that's why jackson is the way it is. No income tax, no corporate tax either, and something else.

Im not looking forward to playing that game in a lot of ways. But also very much am.

speaking of wind farms. They are putting a pretty big one right at the base of the Pryors on the northwest corner of Big Pryor mountain. was pretty surprised to see the bases being constructed there.

I thought montana had income tax?
Ya most of wyoming schools are in such a budget defecit its wild. Really hope they can figure something out. Solar farms would seem to make sense given how much space there is...
Taxes have to go up somewhere...just no way around it

Yes Montana does. No sales tax though.

or massive spending cuts. And that doesn't seem any more doable. I know friends in school and the budget cuts they have received in the last 5 years is INSANE.

I decided to just stay with my current offer. It's good and offers a lot of incentive.

    So will see.

When I was talking to my realator she didn't seem to know at all what they were offering.

You mean like swapping gas tanks the night before a trip and praying that a new battery will fit so my fridge will stay cold?

Hope the wife has forgiven you. Thanks again!

Sorry to hear! Crazy they went with an offer to finish the basement. Just going off the little info of full price with finished vs less without...I'd have gone with yours to not have to deal with finishing the basement. Let alone if i were the buyers they did pick I would be a bit hesitant to have someone finishing a basement in 30-45 days while moving out

Pretty surprised myself. The basement is very large with 10' ceilings I think. And it's framed but not much else. Lot of work left.

I'd be curious how the hell they are going to finish it in that time table hahaha

    Oh well.

Yeah for sure. Shit'll buff out.

well technically the seller is paying her thousands of dollars. But yes, having an unknowledgeable broker that isnt ontop of everything is frustrating.

damn, sorry to hear that. Not a fun roller coaster of emotions. I bet the seller had contractors already lined up to do the basement, and must have done the math that what hes paying them was less that the difference in offers? Hopefully another one springs up soon!!

My buddy and I got motivated last night and did a little demo haha. Pulled out that shitty closet thing and we can frame in the wall and mud it properly. The fools that put it up just taped the joints with painters tape and slapped some white paint on it and called it a day lol
