anyone know 2nd gen tundra's well? Single cab one popped up here for sale with a box/flat bed setup. be a nice plow truck/water hauler/horse hauler...and i guess taco hauler if needed...Its an 07 and has n iForce badge on it but it was black and just said V8 on it. Would be sweet with the 5.7 in it but if its the 2uz then I think it's too much money. The FS sign has no info about it all. I'll call the dude but curious if anyone knows.

 

The 5.7 in Mark's '07 was amazing.

 

I won't be the 2UZ, 2nd gen tundras had a smaller 4.6 UR motor if they were the cheap one.

 

yeah it's a killer motor. Be hilarious in a single cab haha

well what I've read is the 4.7 2uz was still an option...so not sure really.

 

Who would buy that? Wow, that's a lame option, that's a heavy truck and weak sauce V8. If it has either UR I'd have interest. But yeah, it's a strong no on the UZ.

the 5.7 usually has a badge that says 5.7 on it.


Asking only 7500 for it but I bet it's pretty high miles on it.

 

I never look very close at tundras, they don't have any standout features in their market, they're actually worst in class in pretty much all categories. But yeah that would make sense on the badging, advertising the larger engine is how you get the flat brimmers and boomers to home in on it.

 

That said if it has a UR you'd be dumb not to buy it. Can't even get a parts UR for less than 3.5grand

Looks like it could be interesting... though I can't tell if it's got a cover that has to zip, which would be a drawback IMO, since those zippers get hard to work when they get dusty...

Yeah they've been advertising that for a while now. Its just a wedge RTT. So the zipper wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah, not the full camper *could* still have a lot of benefits, and 80lbs seems pretty awesome. ...though a zipper would be a drawback - I don't know of any wedges that have a zipper.

Would be nice if it were a bit wider too - to fit an Exped.

Why would you consider it if it was sealed?

 

I mean, the price is pretty great and there are lots of pros (IMO) to a wedge over a soft-shell. For less than 20% of a full GFC, it would have been an option worth considering in my mind. But then, I guess there's a reason the tent-only GFC is still quite pricey.

GFC is so close for me. 2 inches wider and it'd be hard for me to say no, even though I like the look (and price point) of the truck now.
