@Digiratus well my pump still doesn't work. Fluid won't come out. Not sure wtf is going on. I tested voltage so it's getting power. I'll pull the whole tank again when I do the front end.





Also, this seems interesting. @turbodb you might find this interesting, was thinking of doing this to my DD as well.

What pump are you talking about? I didn't realize you were having a pump issue...

Also - that 5th gear swap does seem super interesting. Probably over my head for now, but boy, I'd love it on the highway.

washer fluid pump. Sprayers won't work on the dd.


And it really doesn't seem too bad to do honestly. If you do your clutch soonish that would be a great time to do it. Honestly doesn't look that complicated. I think I'll try it when I swap my Tcase. Im at 2750 rpms as it is going 70ish. So about 300 rpms won't be bad, be great for gas i bet.

 

Yeah, maybe I can get some moral support from the rest of the WA crew if I do it, that always seems to make things go a little less stressfully.

I've swapped gears in a manual before, it was a Nissan FS5W30A but same basic idea, important thing is order of components, perfect task for anyone who's anal retentive and can hold a tool, so naturally I struggled It's not bad as long as it isn't a gear near the center bearing plate, those are pressed.

yeah this is just 5th so you just split the Tcase and it's right there, don't even have to open the full tranny.

Looks very simple to do. Only like 3 things that you really need to not loose haha

but you could do that but I read its REALLY hard to find the gear and you have to swap the shaft so probably very expensive as well and a pain.

 

Or put the 32s back on.

 

certainly not impossible. But quite a task and Im not even sure you could find the parts as you'd have to get something from an r150 in the early 90s. But I guess you could buy an old yota tranny and hope for the best and tear into stuff.

 

Does your washer reservoir have its cap still? I had the same problem when my reservoir cap disappeared. Mouse decided to commit suicide, decomposed, spray nozzles were clogged with mouse hair.

Yeah cap is fine. Plus I put new nozzles on it. The pump isn't firing for some reason which I knew the switch was bad. However it has a full new steering collum and stalk in it as well and when I did that I checked with a volt meter and power was being sent to the plug correctly when the button was pushed. Tried 2 different pumps now too.

 

@Blackdawg we‘ve got a new artist space in Dubois called the Barn at wind river. He’s got a page on Facebook, looks pretty cool, hope to dust off all my guitars and check it out soon. Might end up with our own redneck tippet rise

 

Not impossible however unpluging the line at the pump does nothing. Just runs out of the pump. No pressure when fired.
