Yeah for sure. I generally carry a chock block with me, if it’s super steep I’ll throw that in front of the tire.

 

@Speedytech7 just an FYI if you're planning on getting those led headlights again, they do not melt snow and I would guess don't have a heater element in them.

So that's a bummer

 

Huh, well that's too bad, I bet it's not a major concern for most. Rigid is the only one offering such a thing, or at least mentioning it as a feature. I'm not really concerned about it though, my truck isn't a daily and sits in the driveway most of the time, it's on MTs anyway, not a great idea for the packed ice our roads get after a day of snow.

 

JBL Also makes one, actually read great things about it.

I don't know the answer to your question. I've liked the Plastics Guy Durobumps, but dang, they are expensive now.

Edit: ...though maybe not all that expensive when compared to other options... Why are little bits of rubber so $$$?

I am running timbrens in the rear. IIRC, they were sold as 2ng gen pieces.

How are you planning to mount them? U-bolt flip?

Yeah they will work. Worse case they bump too tall but likely you'll be fine.

So... I checked my spherical bearings yesterday. Actually, I was going to change them (b/c I heard them squeaking in CO), but on removing the lower bolt and playing around with them prior to completely removing the shock, I decided I could get one more trip out of them. And I may try to push it a bit to 2 trips.

The ball is "loose" but doesn't wiggle.

Right now, this set has ~5K miles and 2 trips on it. Each additional trip will be ~2K miles (Death Valley). With this set, I have not washed the spherical bearings directly, as I was doing with previous sets.

I also have one more set (I think) of the regular-steel bearings from ADS, which I'll use before I try out the Stainless Steel variant.

That 2x4.0 and 1x5.0 deal might be a good way to go then (also, if you read through that deal on Slickdeals, you can return the 2x4.0 and get the 5.0 for like $85) Or, Mike's link for 2x6.0's seems pretty cool to me as well.

 

I mean...how often do you actually use it on trips? You're never out in the woods that long anyways.

I have 2.0Ah in my M12 stuff and they last a pretty darn long time. I think it have a 4 or 5 for the m18 though.

 

You can probably stretch two amp hour a lot longer on the tiny tools. I only have five amp hour batteries for my makitas. They last a long ass time though.

likely just a battery if you cheaped out on them.


And sure I get that. Im much more religious about my batteries though and make sure they are fully charged no matter what before a trip.
