I can see both sides, so I'll play the other side of this specific argument for a second:

That healthy guy who doesn't eat fast food, and exercises every day, can catch a virus from you too if you cough near him without a mask. That's why you should be responsible and do your best to not infect anyone. Because you can't control airflow and who will be infected, or how badly they will be affected.

So what you're saying is he who controls the airflow controls the virus. BRB, gonna run to walmart and buy out all the fans.

In all seriousness though, just act like adults who care for more than just themselves, even if you don't actually care, sometimes pretending is fun.

Really, this is true. You put yourself in a clean air bubble, and you're golden. Walmart fans won't do it for you though, :p. The other option is to stay upwind of anyone who has the virus.

On the rest;, I'm with you.

My statements aren't strippers at a titty bar, you can't just look at only the parts you like. You take the whole thing dammit! :p

You are right in that. I can't remember exactly where pharma lands on the ranking of lobbyists in our government but they were near the top, if not the top.

If work is taking so much of your time that you can't eat well you should change your priorities in my opinion. Takes me 30 minutes in the morning to cook breakfast and eat it while I cook lunch. Takes 15 minutes to cook a steak. With a little prior planning an Insta pot will cook anything rather quickly. I don't think time is a valid excuse for eating unhealthy. It is your CHOICE after all, nobody should force anything on anyone else. We should all have a choice.

I can almost agree with it being more expensive but it can be done at a similar cost. For one, you will eat less if what you are eating has nutritional value to it.

I would consider myself that guy as well.

He may still get it but it's not going to hospitalize a metabolically healthy person. Just because you don't eat fast food and exercise doesn't make you healthy.

Right well to just be a devils advocate here...

I was really talking in terms of not so wealthy people. Who probably can't afford steak to begin with. And are working 2 jobs to make ends meet. That is a LARGE portion of the country really and also where most of the obesity is. For that reason. It just is a kind of viscous cycle.

As for the work thing...eh...idk. I work a LOT. But i love my job. Sometimes meals come 2nd or 3rd or 4th to what i have going on in my life. Thankfully I have a lovely lady that helps a LOT with my eating by doing a lot of cooking. But that can also not be fair if say she wants a career and doesn't want to just be house wife. Then you could look into how a 40 hour work week is basically based off the idea that you have someone at home watching your kids and taking care of the cooking/cleaning/ect whether that is a paid person or your partner. Its not impossible of course and Im getting off topic but it's interesting.

    anyways..

eating healthy is still more of a privilege than a choice for a LOT of people due to cost alone plus other factors. Which is fucked up honestly. Im not saying that people should be forced to eat healthy but some don't even have the choice. You could flip that and say some are forced to live unhealthy..

Hmm. So the thing is, not everyone has the choice to be metabolically healthy - many people in our society have a lot of inherited disorders/disadvantages; things they can't control, even if they do all the same healthy stuff that the healthiest person does (whatever your definition; I was just using food b/c you were).

So, for the people who can't help being at higher risk by no fault of their own... too bad for them?

So I’ve gotten to play single father of three for the past 14 days since the wife had to quarantine with COVID. Hit her pretty hard, got super dehydrated from puking her guts out, no respiratory shit though. We’ve all either had it or are gonna get it:notsure:, I know of a couple of asymptotic 70 year olds that got it. This whole thing is a crap shoot, gonna be nearly impossible to stop a virus in which half the carriers don’t know they have it. I believe strongly in taking personal responsibility for one’s actions, however the power grab this ordeal has precipitated at the federal and state levels should concern us all. My .02. Happy Thanksgiving.

Waiting until cyber Monday to see if my bonus comes through. I don't trust our finance department enough to take the risk. But, if it does, it's finally rear suspension time.

I am at least going to buy some track nuts for the GFC to start getting stuff out of the bed of the truck.
