I'm doing the 4000k mod as well for the c2s I just bought for my ditch lights.

Lol, not quite. Working on it again though, now that I have some free time. Yeah swapping the deavers over. Headed to ace shortly to find fittings for the fuel filter housing inlet/outlet hoses so I can try and fire it again without losing prime

 

Same here.

They are Selective Yellow SS3 Pros. Going to pair them with clear SAE/Driving lenses. I will primarily use them on the highway to supplement the high beams. Will be mounted on the bumper where the light bar is right now.

SP-9100 is going in the double cab? I loved having the individual switches in my 1st gen for the looks, but the all in one kits nowadays are so much more convenient. A 4x4 Spod is on the shortlist for me after the rear suspension.

Time is precious now and it'll just be super easy to hook up the things I want to. Plus I like the trigger functions so I can set certain things to be trigger by the high beams and turn that function on and off.

And they strobe/flash which I have a use for.

So fuck it.

I have a bussman in Igor so didn't need a new setup there really.

The 12v activation from an outside source and strobe features are pretty nice. Does the switch pro have the ability to dim as well?

 

Hmm not totally sure on dim. Will have to check.

I'm adding fog lights and ditch lights right now.

Working on a rear light for inclement weather to flash.

And adding heated wipers.

Then I'm going to switch to halogen head lights I think and depending on how that goes I'll add driving lights as well.

From there no additional plans. But who knows.

sp9100 vs the spot and the price difference was small. I like that it's sealed for one. Spod is not. And it's way smaller.

 

Dang, turning that thing into an emergency vehicle. I didn't even know heated wipers were a thing.

What other features did you like about the Switch-Pro over the Spod? I'm not completely sold on either one yet, so I'm willing to go with either.

I don't know if it's due to user error in wiring accessories or not, but there have been failures of switch-pros due to supposed water intrusion and shorting out. The Spod has a waterproof gasket on the cover as well, but the lugs that the wires hook up to obviously have to be exposed somewhat vs. a waterproof harness plug like the Swith-Pro. But I do prefer having a crimped accessory wire that bolts to the Spod over wiring in the accessory to the Switch-Pro harness. Obviously just personal preference.

I'd also argue that size difference is negligible. Swith-Pro is 6”L x 3”W x .5”H (excluding connectors). Spod is 5.38"L x 5.38"W x 1.48"H.

 

The low beams on my headlights are pretty good for what they are. However, their high beam is simply the removal of the cutoff. It could be the way the projector was set up in the housing, but I don't get much 'down range light' out of them. I am talking about light cast at 500-1000'. Plus, at 4500K, what long range light there is, is kind of thin.
It is my hope that the 4000K Pros will fill that in some.

When I'm back at a computer I'll have to look again. I also went spod but decided the SP was better.

And yeah that was user error. People were mounting them with the ports facing up. You need to mount it perpendicular to that.

And maybe but that's a nice size difference I think. Super thin.

Ah gotcha. Well hopefully they do. I'd have gone for the max for that job haha

And yes he did. Wasn't a huge break but still a bit. Best price I found anyways.

 

I hear what you are saying but the Max pods are only available with 6000K emitters. Didn't want that. The warmer emitters are way more interesting to me. We'll see how they turn out.

Be cool to see and compare to Dan's rigid pods though those might be like 3x3 pods or something.

@drr I got the french-able mounts from RS, the design pretty much only lets you set them in the frame about 1", is that really enough to motivate you to do it twice? If they could mount further back on the frame you could potentially set them in flush, but if you did that how they are now, well you'd just bend the spring on the frame haha. I figure it doesn't hurt for me to do the work this time around, but I dunno seems like it wouldn't be an amount to be worth chasing twice for the extra work. Also got some spherical bushing hangers for the rear shackles. If you have that reference point on the frame, it would be cool to have a rough starting point.

 

What is Selective Yellow? I'm wondering if I want to put something yellow in the bumper, or just get yellow covers for the Hella's...

Selective yellow is the correct color for fogs. It is not amber.

If you are looking for a fog light to mount in your bumper, I recommend the Diode Dynamics pods in either the Pro version or the Sport version. Monte and I were both running the Sport fogs on our last adventure.

That's pretty much what I put in my PIAA driving beams (that I aimed down to make fogs).

Hella calls em Extreme Yellow, but they're distinctively not amber.
