The front fell off







Im seriously impressed with how stout this case is, the freaking front output shaft is 1-3/16" diameter. Now I gotta figure out how to press this shaft out. Might just make a wooden jig to avoid hurting the aluminum case

Speaking of kitchen knives I think he'll start making those too. Which would be sweet.

 

I bought devin a nice Damascus chopper a couple years ago. But its a bit too big(thick blade) and heavy for her. Want a nicer lighter slicer for her now.

 

not sure a custom knife would be great then haha can't put them in the dishwasher. Have to hand wash and oil regularly.

Yeah some good stuff out there. Looking forward to what Marc does but lots of options out there too. Cool people still make them by hand all over.

 

Hey guys! I really appreciate all the interest and try to make it work where I can for everyone. Obviously I'd love to send a knife to everyone who wants one today! I'm a one man show in a 2 car garage with two kids, an amazing wife and a full time job that requires 45+ hours a week. I'm doing all I can and will have lots of great stuff in the near future. I've got two custom kitchen blades I need to finish before I start another batch of the M.1. I'm always open to designs people like of all kinds. I'm limited by my forge size for heat treating so kitchen blades longer than 8" are out of the picture until I get a kiln. I really like high carbon steel for the edge retention among other properties. It's downside is the corrosion. But when kept clean and oiled with mineral oil it will only get a nice patina. As long as the knife doesn't see temps above 400° it won't affect the temper. Although the epoxy will start to let go before the temper is affected but not by much. Either way dishwashers are good knife murderers haha. But we're all guilty with the cheap ones.

I'm seriously considering making my own custom press table now because if it had a larger throat this would have been a lot easier. The puller was more a necessity haha, none of my pullers were long enough alone. This actually worked super smooth though since the top most puller could be tightened into place and trapped the bottom puller arms well from spreading.

 

well hey it worked an no one died haha

Yep! Between the mineral spirits this thing uses and the Valvoline MaxLife ATF I put in the truck, my garage is really starting to smell like a real garage now. If turbo were here, he'd call it odoriferous.
