To continue this camera talk @turbodb

The R6 is nice but to me if you're going to go mirroless the other options out there are better. The Sonly A7c or A7siii are better. Even the Nikon is better I think. And for taking photos the 6D is still excellent and unless you're going for video isn't a huge different with the R6.

Also, at the incident! hahaha I almost did that on our trip to the WABDR. But I'd put it on the back tire. It rolled off somehow without being run over.

I learned to stop putting anything on my tire after detonating a full quart of oil on my garage floor haha

Well, we'll see where I end up. I'm not a fan of Sony's color profile, but that's from previous experience I had a couple decades ago now...I just didn't like the oversaturation that I felt like came out. Was so happy to move from my Sony camera to my first Canon. As far as Nikon goes, I chatted with a buddy who is a Nikon guy, and he is pining after the Canon, so... I dunno, they are probably all way more than I need.

...and the tech in the 6D is so far behind the R6, I don't feel like it would be a forward-looking decision to buy decade-old camera tech. Rather, buy an R-line now, and start building up the RF glass.

    But... cost.

:luvya: I was so pissed at myself when I saw it bouncing on the ground in the side mirror.

I've also had mine on the rtt like 4 times and it fell off hahahaha but survived...well the lens eventually I replaced. But body is good.

Sony really upped the color profile on the newest stuff. Friends that are shooting with sonys now photos look amazing.

I'm thinking of getting an a6400 for hiking. Be only 1.5lbs and smaller. That's still a crop sensor, but as much as I want a FF im not ready for the investment really with glass and all.

Really what you had and some L glass would be a nice improvement alone.

Plus isn't the rs glass not compatible with anything?

Got the fogs finally installed. Bit of a bitch to get the bolts in there haha but turned out how I wanted.

My cool tool tip for getting bolts started in impossible places haha

Overall fit perfect. Almost too perfect cause it's a pain. Looking forward to having them though.

Now to finish the wiring up and run more wire and get the mirror mounts done and other things. Fab parts are done though.

A lot of changes that show they pay attention to their buyers.

The only thing I really want out of that is the internal latch release. Hopefully their V1 upgrade kit provides that.

What’s crazy is that they confirmed in the comments that it’s 70lbs lighter

Yeah, that's cool. Definitely like that better than the other option we looked at...

...still really wish it fit an Exped.

Cool to see them progress. Still happy with where I'm at with the original setup and all the updated parts.

Weight is the biggest plus IMO. Take it or leave it on everything else. :notsure:

Using mine in it currently. It’s tight but it works and is much more comfortable than the factory stiff board foam, like always.

You have one of the duo ones?

I'm planning on picking up one of the single width ones to run on one side for this summer.

    The foam 'mattress' sucks.

Doesn't put too much pressure on the fabric down low? I don't want to end up ripping that...

Yup, megamat duo 10. It does like to try to pop up slightly since it’s a 52” mattress in a 50” space, but it’s really a none-issue. The only thing extra I have to do to make the tent close better is fold the mattress over on itself to force some air out. But that takes 10-15 seconds. The empty space that it provides since it’s shorter is nice for stashing bedding too.

Where exactly? It’s definitely not going to rip on the sides of the metal it touches since it’s all smooth. I’d say there was a much higher risk of it ripping in a RTT from the hinged bars.
