    If you think he's competent then I don't think the price is off by enough to question it. Maybe he knows he's the only local that does it or something.

    Sounds like the internal cutoff shroud is stuck or broken totally shut.

    The ballast ignites the light. It looks like it is doing that.

    If this were true, would it even look like the light is on from the front?

    On my style headlights it's fixable. How much of an opening do you have to access the headlight assemblies. My headlights open with a huge cover to get to all the mechanicals.

    Can you use something to block the light. Like tape a piece of cardboard to the driver light and then take a photo again.

    bit hight but not crazy. That's 150 a shock. Bit high but not crazy.


    Yeah sounds like either

    A) something is blocking the light in the projector, so will need torn down
    B) you just need to fix the aim.

    From your photo of the output it looks like it is there, the bump in the cut off is usually the passenger side I think, so maybe it's aimed way right(driver) than it should be.

    Never know. Might be worth checking. Once you block the driver side it'll be telling of what it is.

    Thats such a weird statement to make. Who cares if the oil and gas have mixed. All that means is the seal on the piston has failed. Which is literally the same work for rebuilding anyways so how would it add more labor?

    As for the price...seems fine and about what I was getting quoted when i was looking around (the ~150 per). I ended up just doing it myself. Which if you were closer I'd offer to just do them for you.

    Something about not being able to just let the nitrogen out of the port. Having to use some fancy tool, adding some time.

    I’d like to learn how to do them, but it doesn’t make sense right now

    Hmmm i mean your rears are just a schrader valve. Front are the funky needle fill. Rears just release through the schrader. Fronts could use the needle fill tool but since that gets removed anyways just use a socket and slowly let the pressure out.

    But Im sure he knows more than me since Ive only done a few lol.


    It is surprisingly simple to just do a basic rebuild. Or more just a seal/o-ring/wear band swap. Hardest part is really just having a way to get springs off and a way to fill with nitrogen. Once you start tuning them it gets to a whole different level

    Randomly popped in here and had to mention that if you have a gas reservoir shock and the gas gets into the shock side you have to pull more stuff apart to get the job done because the shock gets pressurized and there's no air to let out of the shraeder. I've had to deal with it on mine before, not the most fun and messy

    I mean that's a super clean sx. Probably not worth that though imo. If it was a 97 with elocker then maybe.


    The double cans have been fetching a premium for years now. I think I could actually sell mine for more than I paid.
