yeah 4.88 would be better for sure. But can't be too picky. Plus i'd stil have to run a different set of tires for the winter. And don't want those to be huge. So might not be all bad.

 

I feel like if you're going to 34, you might as well just go 35. Is there a 35x10.5 out there? That'd be sweet. (edit: says the guy who was never going to 35s)

That said. 34 you can just bash the fire wall up with a hammer. 35s, you HAVE to tub. I don't have the time to do that right now..so no. Not yet.

I haven't been working enough on it..still not totally sure how i'll do the motor mounts without a engine crane. But figure that out later. Plus I have a documentary to mix plus all the music for it this week starting tomorrow so..be a bit pre occupied at night for a few days.

 

Good Morning! My husband and I want to do some camping and wheeling in your awesome state in about 3 weeks. Is there any off roading areas in Wy? We will be wheeling in Colorado and then want to head up to Big Horn possibly for some camping in the state forest campgrounds. Unless there is some off grid places someone could suggest? Was trying to find some 4x4 groups on facebook or forums but have not found any active ones so far and I remembered this awesome community. Dogs are coming too!

 

Not to deter you from the Big Horns, but the smoke has been rather bad recently. Theres a fire at the north end of them (plus a few others). As for off-roading....theres tons of BLM areas you can venture onto. Theres some driving "tours" as well. I'd stop in a BLM office and they have maps and plenty of info to point you into towards.

 

I didn't realize there were fires there too. I need to figure out how bad it is there. Shoot! Thank you for the info.

 

Visibility is listed at ~5mi. But mostly looks like its foggy out. Its pretty smokey everywhere in the western side of the state sadly. Can still enjoy it and if its your one time to come I'd still come. But if you could come later in the year or next year it would probably be better

 

That's what we are trying to figure out. He wants to do about 5 days between montana an Wy. but would be driving everyday. My plans for that week changed and now I want to go with him but I don't want to drive for 8 hours every day and not see stuff. So we compromised and would spend the time in Wy. and a little in South Dakota but with the fires I'm not sure what to do. We will be in Colorado the week before. The compromise was next year we only go to Montana and Wyoming.

 

Montana has been bad with the smoke too. I don't know about South Dakota but I would venture it's probably better out that way?

 

Really sad that nowadays you have to check the weather and for fires when you go on vacation.

yesturday was about as bad as ive seen it this year. that certainly isnt stopping anyone from doing anything. were still out biking and going to the park and hitting the river e.c.t

you just dont get goo views from the mountain tops

 

Not quite the worst day in the basin but up there. Think the worst visibility had to be under two miles. Couldn't see town that day.

Will say least one positive...keeps things a bit cooler and being outside all day it's nice not having the sun beating on you while working.

 

You just noticed that? Haha been dwindling at a fast rate for the last 5 years.
