Lol those look so beefy in pictures, in real life duratracs are little more than an A/T.

 

I'm on my 3rd set of st maxx, and they are decent, for the baby winters we get here. We get more ice than anything in my area, and unless its straight glass, they are good till about 50k miles with wheeling.

Just figured I'd give some feedback on them.

 

This is why I've always stayed with MT's. If I never spent any time wheeling in western wa, then an AT or RT might be fine.

 

Interesting that you've got such good mileage with them. Several people I know have only got 25-30k out of a set, and had them wear kinda funky (although that may be an alignment issue).

That would suck. But mastercraft tires are coopers too. Maybe that's why they got more expensive too ha

I know if they were actually that beefy they'd be way more popular haha

I've had st maxxes for a while now. They are okay no complaints but aren't awesome either I think.

 

It do be like that sometimes. MasterCraft are one of those brands I wouldn't even know where to buy.

Going to Les Schwab for anything is actually insanity. $75 to mount and balance two tires I already owned on new wheels I brought in, I had to have a friend carry me out of the lobby I was laughing so hard.

 

I've got 40K on my second set of ST/Maxx's now and I've still got a lot of life left - another 25-30K I'd say. (You might have been referring to my first set, where I had a terrible alignment for like a year, after almost running over Mike and Monte, and they were done after 40K)

 

I basically went through 2 in 3 years. Didn't last nearly as long as they were supposed to.

 

I keep them at 33 psi, rotate at 5k is an absolute must. I air down to around 10-15psi, and I do this at minimum twice a month for around 20 miles.

My alignment is pretty bad right now, causing them to start to chunk on one tire. I think if I would have corrected it, they be good for another 7k, for summer tires. But no way would I use these for winters past 45k.

50k miles was over a 2 year period.

 

I wont go near the place. And WTF is with that 'free beef"' promotion that they used to do.

I may have also been thinking of the STT Pros that Mike was running and got terrible mileage out of.

 

This is a real oddball creation, I dont dislike it but I also don't really like it. It's both vehicles but also kinda neither.
