Some day I'll add a real sub. The speakers we have do well with lower frequency stuff (go to 35hz) but only having two 7" drivers for "bass" (and only being supplied 100w for the whole speaker) it doesn't compare to a real sub.

Well you took the shoes off yourself! Wasn't to far off to get the diff.

Either way stick a scope up it's butt and see what's going on.

Yeah no even close haha I have just some old two way altec Lansing and a 8" powered sub. Works great for a simple home setup. When I have my own house I'll try to do an Atmos setup with Sonos speakers probably.

Think mine have 5.5" drivers. Can't remember.

Either way not as nice as being in the studio haha

    They were the T35350.

No cutting needed but you would need to swap to 95-00 wheel bearings.

I don't, but they're fairly inexpensive for what we'd need and it would be worthwhile to have one.

This is very interesting. Yukon T35350 is made from 1541H alloy and has no Chromium in it.

Nitro Gear has an axle part number of AXT35350 and it is made from 4140 which does have Chromium in it.

    https://www.nitro-gear.com/AXT35350-p/axt35350.htm

    Yukon T35350

    https://www.amazon.com/Yukon-Gear-YA-T35350-Differential/dp/B00ERXYU6Q

    Chromoly
Stock axle shafts are typically made from 1040 and 1541 steel and are perfectly adequate for stock applications. For performance axle shafts, we use 1541H steel, 4140 and 4340 Chromoly steel, which has been hardened to maximize the strength and ductility of the axle shafts.

1541 is a plain high carbon steel similar to 1040 but with added manganese for better hardenability, but there is not enough alloying elements in it to be classified as an “alloy” steel. 1040 and 1541 are used by manufacturers as a cheap alternative in meeting requirements for stock axles; they heat treat 1040 and 1541 by induction hardening, which is a production form of case hardening. It is fast, cheap and works very well. 1541 is able to be hardened to a greater depth (better hardenability) than 1040/1050 and is therefore stronger.

4140 and 4340 are true alloy steels. 4140 is alloyed with chromium, molybdenum and 4340 with chromium, molybdenum and nickel. 300M is also called 4340 modified, as it is basically 4340 with silicon added. The strength of steel is generally directly related to the hardness. The harder you can get the steel, the stronger it is (tensile strength), but you generally loose toughness. These alloys give the steel increased hardenability and reliable toughness at higher hardness/strength levels. They can be induction hardened but their purpose and advantage is that they can be thru hardened, due of their better hardenability. 4340 has better hardenability than 4140 so it can be heat treaded harder, and thus stronger, than 4140. The 4140 and 4340 material is available in commercial and aircraft quality. Aircraft quality is achieved by vacuum melting to minimize impurities and is a more costly endeavor. Most 4140 and 4340 axles are made of commercial quality steel.

Ive had this one (yellow not the "black" version but a yellow verison, same company and specs though) and it has worked just fine. Not the best image quality but enough to stick it somewhere and check for damage. I use mine with my tablet
    https://smile.amazon.com/DEPSTECH-W...rtphone/dp/B01MYTHWK4?pd_rd_i=B01MYTHWK4&th=1

These days I would spend a bit more and get a 5MP over a 1080p one. Bit better image for not to much more money.

I think that is the same one I have and my complaint is that anywhere I want to put it is too close for it to focus on. Only time I can get a clear image of cylinder walls is when it's at the top of the hole. Try and get closer and it becomes way too blurry to make much out.

Weird. I havent had any sort of issues like that. But being cheaply made video equipment Im sure theres a bit of hit-or-miss from unit to unit.

Also to be fair I do have this specific one which might be slightly different than the all black model?
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XSDF8Y5?ie=UTF8

Doesnt compare to the ones we had at work but not paying the price for one of those (think they were around 10k) but good enough for the couple times a year I use it.

I was wondering about this. The camera portion looks like it is at least an 1" long and I can't tell how sharply the cable can be bent right after the camera section. Can it be bent 90°? In those tight spaces, did you try using that mirror thing that it comes with?

I have looked at several models today trying to choose wisely. Having said that, I just bought one of these.

    Dumb question, probably.

I'm gathering bits and pieces so that when my new rear axle housing arrives, I'm as ready to go as I can be. Obviously I'll need new axle seals and o-rings, and I plan to make new hard brake lines (and possibly ditch the BPV). I also need some sort of gasket/seal for the joint between the third member and housing. What's the best thing to use there? Something in a tube? Some actual rubber or paper thing? The Right Stuff, stuff? 90 minute?

Toyota FPV is what is used. i think you can buy a high quality gasket that is resuable though but I can't remember who makes it..

    YES.

When in Dec? I'm free the first half, but not the second. I can plan the route, obviously...if by south you mean DV area.
