I saw where it said it was the 4 but the listing is 'typical features". I now see the pic of the tailgate. And I totally missed the fact that it was an extracab. Was thinking it was a dcab.

Dan you going to do a crosslink step with the new lights? Did you get 2 or 3?

 

I am pretty sure the ss5s are not crosslink compatible. I think only the new ss3 configuration is linkable

I don't see anything that allows the SS3s to do that at all.

 

I found why my truck exhaust got real noisy. One bolt was hanging off the edge of my ifs skid. It looks like I left the other one in DV. In 50 years it'll be considered a relic.

Allows curve too if you want. 3 should fit perfectly under my light hoop with a slight arc to them too. Spot in center and drive for the putters.

Fuckin pricey though. 1200 bucks

Good to know, i'll have a look. I've decided that my haggard "deck plate mod" from 2012 ins't a good look anymore.

@m3bassman replaced his with some aftermarket one

 

The aftermarket one didn't fit great so I swapped it with the one from my green 4runner. Bought a second one as backup from a different 4runner.

 

Got 2. Just running them in place of the current Hellas. The crosslinking is neat I guess, but sheesh, seems like an expensive bar if you're putting together such expensive lights. Plus, if you were going for an eight-pod setup (which let's be real, that's what people are going to go for), you'd need 60A! Cough, cough.

 

nah not me haha 3 is plenty. I like the idea honestly. 3-4 seems cool if you can fit it. im sure 2 is plenty.

 

3-4 would be nice because you could point a couple/one straight down the road, and a couple to the side. Maybe a couple/one spot and a couple combo (or driving) - that kind of thing; I agree with you.

Still, it seems to me that most folks who are lighting in that way (front and side) already have SS2/3 pods as ditch lights for the "side" stuff, so if it's really worth it to dump the existing and pay extra to replace. Plus, ditch lights seem slightly more functional to me, since you can always reach out the window to adjust them...or at least the driver side one.

 

welll...I have ditch lights haha

ANd still think it would be handy, would allow me to turn mine more to the ditch then they are now.

Still, im not about to drop 1200 on some lights. Not yet...

 

Also come on..I'm already envisioning how awesome 6 would be on a gfc above the cab
