Yea, I'm gonna try a few things different I think. Overall though solid starting point!

Made a trip to the hardware store just now and got all the parts minus the quick-release mount and the rc halfshaft for the gimbal. 15 bucks, score. Should really be fun to start shooting some video with!

Monte, the old lenses we have from our dads cameras are really good for video I realized cuz you can change the fstop on the lens and focus is way smoother than our kit/50mm lenses. 60d isn't half bad with video man! 720 at 60fps looks nice. On top of having a sweet summer wheeling we should have some sweet documentation of it

Here's the original vid of that stabilizer. Skip in a ways to see him run some test footage.

will do. Probably gonna be a week before the rest of the stuff gets here.

the other design I thought about was the simple two legged design without a gimbal where you just balance it on your hand. probably would have been even cheaper but I thought id give the gimbal deal a try.

Nice!! Hope it works well..MIT have to make one if it goes well.

I know out cameras do nice video and the fd lens are favored big time for vid.

My tripod just is so flimsy ever time I try and do stuff it's shaky.

Hope it works man  cauuuuussseeee......then....wy meet vids

if it goes well i can whip up a few of the "frames", then all you guys would need to do is supply your own slide bar and quick release, or just thread it on to the track bar every time whatever you want.

Ya weird, how theres now 50 more pages shown but they're busted, hmm.

Edit: looks like when you click on the last page icon it's too many redirects for the browser to handle going back to this page... Somehow 80 pages got added to the page que.

Is a forum platform change in the near future that you know of? May be some background stuff goin on.

and yes, the weights will be identical for both our rigs since we both have the same lenses too

Wouldn't be too hard for gage to balance for his though. or were you thinking of something else
