I'll believe with when I see it. The A340 is a power suck.

 

You're not wrong, it eats it up hard that's why it'll still probably be tough from a dig, but with the shift kit and the reprogramming we should be able to take out a lot of the bad characteristics of the A340.

 

Can't wait to see it! Part of it is my interest in you two figuring it out and if I see the benefits first hand, it'll make it easy to jump over to the haltech setup. So for now some competitive shit-talking is where I'll stand until we can line up

yeah the haltech is going to make it a totally different engine. Ben you wont' stand a chance IMO haha

You are right ofcourse. It's all talk at this point. In theory, the haltech should be better overall. We shall see.

 

Bold claim for a guy with a poorly tuned supercharger, 35s, lots of weight, and stock gears.

 

I hope to see a big difference. If I can be convinced to go that route it would be fun to get a dyno involved for some real data on the differences.

I really don't care how fast my truck is, and I'm currently trying to make it go slower.

Just stirring the pot. But you can't discount the 20% advantage of 4.88s to 4.10s. Or 30% to 5.29s. Of course depends on how you define faster.

 

Plus Mike is on 33s effectively so 4.88 and 33s, his main detriment is the A340

 

This is important. If the definition is simply top speed, Ben will always be faster than me, regardless of who got to the point of shutdown first.

His balls are way bigger than mine. He has to have a wheel barrel with him at all times. Mine are old and shriveled up and nearly non-existent.

 

He might not be faster since he's stalling out acceleration wise at high gear around 3k haha

 

What is your indicated speed when this happens?

 

Drag race. Top speed is pointless because these things aren't punching through the air much at 80mph.

Gears would be interesting on my end as well. It's probably ok the horizon as well, a lot of thoughts to ponder after seeing my truck against Mike's.

All gas no brakes! Top speed, no. Drag race, yeah. It would be telling of the amount of grunt for on ramps, climbing grades, etc.

Only in 4th, but ya soft spot on the other gears.

I would need to go back and see, it was somewhere around 70mph so indicated would've been 65ish.

 

LOL I'll never forget when @IDtrucks and I were going to Morrison for the first time and he pulled out next to me after a turn and we "drag raced" and it was back and forth for a bit until we hit 80mph and then we just sat there in the middle of the highway doing 80 looking at each other hahahaha neither of us could go any faster back then with our trucks setup. I imagine Derps is actually worse now. Frank is much better purely due to not having that roof rack on there.

 

Also weight savings from having so many other parts removed at this point.....
