    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.

    ...

    I mean..yes...I know.

    But also...it will be fine.

Actually the 9.5'' ones would be better possibly, thats what all OME rear shocks are.

My 10'' ones never seemed to stop me. It's all realative to how much lift he has.

Like Igor has 8.5/8'' foxes and they are like limiting straps basically. But that's okay because at ride height I want the up travel as I don't have 3-4'' lift really like on Frank which is like 4.5''ish of lift. 8.5'' shocks won't even fit with that much lift at all at ride height. They'd be bottomed out all the time. I know this, because I literally did this WAY back in the day! My first set of 5150s were 8.5'' long and I couldn't even get them on Frank at all. Had to send them back and get 10'' ones.

Yeah they bottomed out but because I had so much lift i had to really be working to get it bottom out by going fast or flexing a ton. This problem can also be easily fixed with taller bumps which eventually I got.

Is it ideal? no. Ideal is doing a shock relocation.

But Brett isn't doing that. So best case is to get 10'' shocks that he will eventually throw away anyways and decided to run some ADS/King/Fox/whatever and relocate them. Until then, 10'' shocks will be just fine to drive around the streets and forest service roads with occasional flexing out. Brett isn't one to put the pedal to the metal and send it over a whoop so I wouldn't be worried.

The table mike posted has those measurements for the 5125s.

The 8.5s extended are only 22.5"

It's a flexible plastic which I'm not thrilled about. I suppose it has its advantages if your into hitting things. Still would like a Satoshi style someday

For reasons I am incapable of understanding the green truck ran 1900 miles flawlessly. Still some bog in 4th at the dead spot but otherwise it ran as best as it has with the added boost, albeit with a drinking problem. I don't want to say it was my Italian tune up that did the job, but....

Races were fun, but not as much action as last time. Limited access to Backdoor and they let all the drivers bypass it, good for times, not fun to watch. Chocolate thunder, usually a clusterfuck, was a cakewalk since the big boulder moved. We had fun at the highspeed section at least.

Night time action is a riot.

Those that have alcans, did you just call them and tell them how much weight you have on the axle and how much "lift" you want? I don't even know how much "lift" I have but certainly don't want it any taller.

I usually start with their online form. I am assuming they still use that method. It is an opportunity to give them as much data as possible. Like where the extra weight is, i.e. RTT height and weight, OSK, tool kits, dogs etc. It some point I will follow up with a phone call.

If you give me the distance between the bottom of the wheel wells and the center of the wheel hub, I can give you a close approximation of your current amount of lift.

You order them based on lift and how much extra weight over stock.

I think you can skip their form and get the best results by giving them total weight and F/R axle weights. They'll give you an estimate of how much over stock weight they recommend.

On my 2nd gen, I hadn't finished the build yet, and just gave it my best guess as to how much weight over stock I would have. Came out spot on.

When you say where I assume you mean over which axle? Height of the rtt is kinda an odd one?

Let me get that distance tonight. My current springs do the weight and height perfect but they have about 200k miles on the main leaf and bushing which makes me concerned that fatigued and cracking a leaf may become a possibility.
Just measured it on Thursday fully loaded and half a tank. 2850F 2800R, 5650 total. Sounds like that's pretty much what they would need.

These two sentences were connected. The assumption I was making was whether or not they still use the online tool I used with them before their ownership change.

Bill Ford (original owner) indicated to me that RTTs raise the center of gravity. The more RTT weight there is and the higher it is, the more the COG is impacted. He indicated he likes to factor that in to his springs for those of us that do a little rock crawling and higher speed whoops, to minimize the impact the RTT/bed rack weight has on the truck suspension's behavior.

It’s ironic that the customer in the story mentioned going with Toyota had they known. We just got a 2021 RAV4 and only have remote start and safety connect (Toyota’s version of Onstar) because it still has a free trial going. After that it costs $80/year for us to keep remote start, safety connect, wifi, or maintenance notifications. That’s $80/year just for remote start and an additional $80/year for the other items. So Toyota is doing the same thing unfortunately.

Toyota is one of the most egregious in this space right now. My brother is in the same boat after spending a lot for a new rav hybrid. For features that are updated with time that continue to add value, i get it (maps, apple car play, music etc) but for basic features that dont evolve like remote start, cruise control, heated seats, it is absolutely a money grab. Toyota rakes in billions in PROFIT each quarter, why are they trying to squeezed their customers for each last dollar they have. Huge black eye for the brand IMO. sad thing is, right to repair is liely to be a subscription based thing in the future as we have far less power than the automotive lobby groups in our country.
